Sure, it's great that you can tell us that ships are taking damage.

How about some REAL COMMENTARY?

I listened in to hear the Notoriety tournament because I have a friend in it, but you guys made it sound like nails on a chalkboard.

Talk to us about WHAT IS GOING ON. Don't give us history on ships, we're aware of what they're capable of. We want blow-by-blow so we can feel like we're a part of the fight.

Yea, less about how you think a nightmare is interestin, and more about whats happening blow by blow.

Commentators, we cannot seewhat you see.

this is a "radio" broadcast.

When you say "and x ship is taking damage" we need to know

WHAT ALLIANCE THE SHIP BELONGS TO
And maybe even the pilots name

basics, please

we know you kow

we are listeing to find out

and youre simply not telling us most of the time

poor commentary can be compensated for if we can see the game

So please either get commentators who can comunicate or return live viseo broadcasts so we can see for ourselves.

i have to admit after watching the youtube videos, on several occasions the commentators are talking about something as mentioned in the OP and a ship explodes and they don't mention it at all.

Sad

Commentating seems easy enough, but actually its quite difficult... Everyone thinks they could do it, but not many would do better, if the spotlight were placed on them. I was very impressed with the commentary I've heard thus far.

It's hard work explaining your perception of events in a video game and keeping listeners interested. Gamers tend to be especially impatient, that might be what makes them good at PVP. But take it from me, commanding a large PVP fleet is ALOT easier than providing commentary for 10+ PVP matches.

The commentators are doing a great job, so cut them some slack...

Is anyone able to define what, precisely, constitutes a "convincing win"?

What does a decisive victory convince a commentator of? My count is not exact but I recall at least seven wins that were described as convincing.

Are the commentators attempting to start a meme or are they simply incapable of varying their verbal tics?

Make Siigari a commentator next year so we can all start threads about how horrible it is, also it would allow us to feel important. Thanks in advance.Rolling Eyes

There's already a thread for this, tbh, and in that thread there are a lot of people trying to be constructive and helpful. This thread fails to deliver on that score, except Trev. Looking forward to listening to/seeing you next tourney when you have this job.

I think this year's commentary will prove to be a convincing win by the time it's all said and done.

We had a pool on when the next commentary whine thread would start. I need to go and see who won.

Well, it is radio commentary. They kind of have to tell us what's taking damage otherwise we would have no idea until we watched the youtube videos the next day.

If they keep doing it when the live video feed is up, I will start complaining, though.

I am n00b and I want all the time that commentators talk about ship capabilities, even basic ones... as I want to know what that ship can do also it helps me to learn to know them...

Not only expert PvP playersa re listening and looking, so I like commetns they deliver... Also I am not satified with view...

Also I would like to have explanations when commentators tell "That is strange to have ship xyz on field"... ok it is strange, but tell the n00b what is so strange about it... as to me all the ships are the same until I learn what is their difference. And don't tell that I am too n00b then to watch such tournaments, I am not applying for fight there, so I want to have some comments for n00bs too as expert PvP dudes can understand what's happening even without comments.

there is just so much time to say something during a fight. remember this is live commentary. they cant prepare what to say.

I think the commentary was good, considering that the commentators are not professionals. If this was "Monday Night Football," then yeah, I'd say there is a problem, but it is not. I think they did a great job considering that it is a live match that is very fast paced and they have minimal time to describe the team setups.
