a new ship class (maybe based on tier 2 BCs?) who's special ability is that electronic warfare modules equipped on them are effective against seiged capitals and supercaps. Sensor Dampeners, ECM, Tracking disruptors etc. (obviously some are more useful than others, not much reason to ever want to web, scramble, or target paint a sieged dread). Maybe even a new form of ewar effective against missile ships, like some deployable module that makes all missiles in some range target the module instead of whatever it was after. I don't know, the details need some work. The point is however, that a sub cap fleet would be able to effectively neuter, but not really kill, a cap fleet. Thus necessitating the need for capitals to have support ships. Thoughts, opinions?

how about instead of defenders we get chaff clouds or something, make a bunch of missiles in the general area go off course and explode like weak bombs.

I'd say....

1. Stop the stoopid triple DD's from owning everything smaller then a carrier in the grid... maybe just give it a longer warmup but i wouldn't cry if it got deleted from the game. Alliances spending trillions of isk and months of effort for a tripple DD as the endgame is just stupid.
2. Make capship replacements cost more ... capital rigs, maybe cap t2 stuff, no insurance.
3. Dreads can hit bs just fine out of seige this needs fixing, maybe reduce their weapon range alot & x it back up with siege.
4. EW should be able to affect dreads or atleaset carriers ... give them a reasonable strength though. It was cool having them unjammable when there was just 1-2 of them about... now theres millions of them its pointless. Yes a 200k frigate might be able to get a cycle on a 2bil carrier but he should have brought friends as support ... thats the point.

Cap fleets without support become dead cap fleets and sieged capitals can hit.. well other capitals and POSes. Nothing more really.

As for the missile e-war, no. That's one thing that sets missiles and turrets apart, is the lack of specific e-war counters. I like variety in my game, myself.

Nope... asoon as a cap fleet gets to a certain size the only threat to them is a bigger fleet of caps.

The only reason support fleets exist in allainces is players training up for caps.

If you have 200 guys the best fleet combination you can have is 200 cap ships... theres no use for support.

Oh and dreads hit bs fine when out of siege, sure they do the same dps but with 2.5mil hp it isn't exactly a fair fight.
