Hi,

We're currently taking Tranquility down for a reboot. When it is back up, you will be able to patch again and log in.

Before you log in next time:

Please make sure you have deleted the patch (evepremiumpatch94168-99186-mac.tgz) located here:

/Users/username/Library/Preferences/Eve Online Preferences/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility/Cache

Please dont forget to re-upload the patch so that we can apply it as well...

Re-downloaded the client. It worked. Now just waiting in line to log-on.

EVE on windows == Native
EVE on MAC == emulation crap, that why you get a diff patch size...

This is because of a cider update I think. There is a topic somewhere about this.

Whats with all the Mac hate? Seriously. I have a Mac and a PC at home and I know a ripoff when I see one - my PC ripped me off.

Once the server mini-patch is up and running everything will be fine. Till then just chill, please.

As this patch is both updating the game AND updating cider, a big difference in the patch size is to be expected.

FYI, TG made great progress on the Cider client concerning EVE. I bet you weren't here after Trinity, it was crash, crash & not to forget crash.
This what we now see, is something that seems to happen a lot after a mayor or minor upgrade to the game. It just takes CCP a few days to iron out the misbehaving 0's and 1's.
Just relax.

No MAC hate dude, it's just that we pay the same money for the game...and we get something that is not MAC native, instead it's emulation of some Wintendo SW. Not to mention MAC users don't play the same game as PC users, performance wise.

GPFS does have a point tbh re. we pay the same money for a non-native product. I guess this goes to show.

/edit, re. the above - like I posted earlier, they need to remember to re-upload the patch file. I guess they forgot.

Totally agree. The Mac client has come on massively in the last few months - it used to be terribly slow and unreliable.

I'm getting that too, it just means they haven't uploaded the fixed patch yet.

Give them a few minutes guys, then you can complain! Very Happy

That error means that the client knows that it needs to download a patch and also knows where the patch will be, but the patch is not yet there.

In fact ... they removed the patch because it was not working. And they have not yet uploaded the new patch.

The client is just trying to download http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/mac/evepremiumpatch94168-99186-mac.tgz but the file is not there (click on the link and you'll get a 404 file not found error, at least untill they do deploy the new patch file).

the patch is bad so they removed it wait for the new one I'm sure it will be out soon. They do have to upload it too.

Can anyone confirm whether or not this really is a new client-side patch? As far as I understood from the last CCP post the server was being taken down to apply a patch to it, not the other way around; and I still have the patch file though, thankfully, I havn't installed it.

it's not about that, it's about they just told us the patch would be available as soon as TQ was up again.
It's up, where's the patch?

They have/nad a server side issue AND and MAC client side issue. Hence you get the reboot of the cluster, and hence the deleted MAC patch, me thinks.
