hi there

The the current helios cpu & pg is useless

i cannot fit anything other than a cov ops cloak and probe launcher and a mwd (still have 4 empty mid slots even with a power diagnostic unit II & a co processor II fited to low slots)

and as almost all mid slot modules (shield booster/extenders require a reasonable amount of cpu it renders the helios useless when it comes to fitting it

options are either 1. give the helios a new bonus reducing the cpu requirements for probe launchers or 2. increase the base cpu on the ship.

Inertia Stabilizers I

1MN MicroWarpdrive I
Analyzer I

try getting your covert ops skill up.. that could make a big CPU difference

I have to agree with the OP.

I find it rather odd that when you fit a probe launcher than can actually scan for ships that you can't then fit anything to tackle that ship...

As a side note, I think that a great bonus to give the covert ops frigs in general would be to give them a 25% reduction in activation energy cost and 100% increase in range for ECM burst modules. This would allow you to blast a lock off of yourself so you can cloak and run.. but not all that far as your cap would be dry.

Honestly the only thing the Heilos had going for it was its looks. Then CCP went ahead and changed the model to that god awful wedge thing. Take a week or so to train Amarr frigate to 5. Honestly the Anathema is a much nicer and better ship as your able to fit every module you need for exploration sites and still have room left over for other modules.

List your skills. I dont even have cov ops V and can fit a probing cloaking tackling mwding etc helios or anathema.

when I was scoping out a training plan for my probing alt, the helios turned out to be the easiest ship to fit - especially compared to the caldari version. As it turns out, I went for the anathema, purely because of the looks

I've though about that myself but it might make them a bit overpowered. They're pretty hard to catch as it is

As for fitting stuff, the helios is more forgiving than the other covops ships. The buzzard is hopeless imo

Unfortunately, this would be generalizing the racial EWAR stuff. Someone else suggested giving bonuses to Sensor Damps for all SBs for the same reason. But each race only gets specific EWAR. I don't imagine we'll see that change in the near future.

Unless I'm forgetting about some random ship class I can't fly and just made an ass out of myself. Either way, someone will laugh.

There does not appear to be a concrete rule on the racial ewar it seems more to be a general pattern. Consider the Golem a Caldari ship that gets a bonus to target painters the minmatar ewar method.

Not being funny but at just under 60 million skill points with 73 at level 5 it would be quicker for you to post your setup.

The point is that you can fit all that with a core launcher but that is no use for hunding people eg.

Fit a core launcher, fitting easy

Fit a Expanded (for combat probes) you can't fit f'all

That's the real issue, is the expanded launcher requirements. I can see them wanting it to hurt a bit, to prevent every BS with a spare high from having one. They really need to give cov ops a role bonus for it, so they can fit them without having unfilled mids, or having a stack of coprocessors and power cores in the lows. I don't even know why cov ops have weapon bonuses. It's a joke.

No!

It can fit this at level 4 easily:

[Helios, New Setup 1]
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
[empty low slot]

1MN MicroWarpdrive II
Warp Disruptor II
[empty med slot]
[empty med slot]
[empty med slot]

Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
Expanded Probe Launcher I, Core Scanner Probe I

Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I
Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I

Its easy to take it form there.

And train level 5 for even more easy to use.

The key is: train your skills, don't be lazy about it.

Dude please read the bloody thread!

Option (ie your setup)

Use Expanded probe launcher with not allot else

Option 2
Core Launcher (eg no ships scanable)
Bit of a tank and an awesome tackle

What we want

Tackle set-up WITH launcher that lets you scan for things to tackle!!!!

Not really, helios is easy to fit for that role, especially with cov ops V

[Helios, New Setup 1]
Inertia Stabilizers II
Inertia Stabilizers II
Overdrive Injector System II

1MN MicroWarpdrive II
Warp Disruptor II
Stasis Webifier II
Codebreaker I
Analyzer I

Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
Expanded Probe Launcher I, Combat Scanner Probe

Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I
Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I

Warrior II x1

Edit: MWD should have been a t2

I agree with most of the others, it's not your ship, it's your skills...

Electronics and Elec. Upgrades go so far, but there are other ways to reduce the cpu and powergrid use, for example...

Covert Ops skill
"This allows it to utilize very advanced forms of cloaking at greatly reduced CPU cost."

With this up to 4 I can fit this
http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/8481-Helios-Paranoid-Scout.html

And if I swap out a Injector System for a Co-processor I can fit an Expanded Probe Launcher. Those things eat though cpu at least as bad as a cloaking device. I think part of your problem also lies in a MWD. Sure they are fast (very, very fast) but unless you have a good reason for it the increased signature radius probably isn't worth it, look into going with an afterburner and injector systems.

Now, I know this isn't the setup that you want, I'm just using it as an example. If I can fit an expanded probe launcher AND a covert ops cloaking device on mine, then you should have no problem fitting one or the other and still having plenty of CPU left over.
