i think CCP went crazy, or smoking to much ****, EVE Online it a unique sandbox game, and they want to break with a hybrid console game in it? WTF is going? What about us that we are playing for years?

Bleah..

Same as every other time CCP has "broken the game" quit (can I has ur stuff?) or adapt and realise they've actually thought it through quite well and it wasn't nearly as bad as expected.
Its also never been as good as expected.

heck IvE is one of thoes games that people play in spite of the developers.

It hasn't actually happened yet, you have no idea of the details. And chances are you've never actually been involved in SOV warfare otherwise you would realise how bad it actually is.

SOV warefare presently:- sitting for X amount of HOURS shooting a static non- interactive object, maybe one in five times an enemy fleet shows up to defend its POS.

DUST sov warfare:- organising a bunch of Gatorade fuelled psychos, to land on a planet with all the halarity/frustration that entails while fighting through blockades/gatecamps or whatever.

I know which one I'd pick. If you don't like it you can **** right off, we don't like you anyway.

So you choose the one where the 0.0 entity in the game has the least control over it? This is removing power from the people who control the space and placing it in a completely different game with with people who have no allegiance to the people who own the space already. That is the inherent problem. Removing control from Eve and placing it in a another game is a terrible idea which can only be disastrous for the game.

Also grats on the personal attack with no basis. I went and checked your employment history and unless this is an alt you have no grounds to talk about 0.0 warfare. I on the other hand have been involved in 0.0 warfare longer than most people.

I too have been involved in 0.0 warfare for a long time and I think Dust is a great idea - or it could be, depending on the implimentation details.

Goddamn people are stupid.

Look, the same team that works on lag is not the same team that works on WiS, is not the same team that works on Dust, is not the same team that works on balancing gameplay mechanics, is not the same team AD INFINIUM.

WiS is being worked on, don't get your panties in a wad. Drill this into your thick skull before posting again complaining about something not being done.

btw, from two different sources who were at the gamescom theres the statement that dust will also feed into factional warfare.

I will definately play dust.

Sorry, but "Bild" is one of the least reliable sources of News in Germany. They like to exaggerate and make things up if it's not sensational enough. Without at least two more independent sources of what "Bild" wrote to verify it, I would not belief a thing they write. "Bild" is only good for comedy value really, if you can forget that people actually take the crap seriously.

do you remember that one article about the one planecrash, where all passengers and the crew died, and only bild spoke with the survivers :=D

Didnt actually happen though, but its a running gag in germany. So yes, take everything from bild with a grain of salt. But still they claim to know these two things :p

oh and /edit: its one of their gamescom articles, so yes, they were at the gamescom as well

what i wonder is how the souvereignity of those planets that are not assigned to be battlegrounds will be played out.

Since the SOV mechanics are moving from POS´es to Planets, there needs to be some device or something which keeps track of the battles that have been fought out for a given planet, and decides which side won the souvereignity for that planet.

is it my bad maths or are there 514 planets in 0.0 (non npc soverigny claimed) that are capiable of maintaining a plantary population?

intriguing idea. other possible solutions are:

there are 514 null sec systems (i think this has been confirmed already)

5-14 is a biblical verse to do with dust and rising again

maybe its all of it.

but if there were 514 planets capable of maintaining human colonization, this would be quite a good number, since ccp has to make sure the dusties can join in on a fight almost 24/7.

thats why i think its gonna be a wise move to have dust feed into factional warfare as well.

although there has to be an incentive to pump isks and equipment into factional warfare dust troops. People wont just do it for the lulz of it. There has to be a benefit for pumping stuff into factional warfare, since it costs isks.

We'll have to wait how this will be handled exactly, but if the console people can turn over systems, that would thoroughly suck ...

If dust on the 360 looks and plays good now why would it suddenly not look and play good later if another M$ game box hits the stores? Do games magically lose detail and playability when another system comes out?Neutral

No, but judging by the nature of console gamers, everyone stops playing it as soon as the new pretty FPS comes out.
