I think you'll find 'Balancing Patch' is the two words that make me as an eve player have excitement in my face.

Excitement in her face though is just what happens when there's no available contraception.

Write your article and if you win, you'll get the chance to ask that very question to a dev!

This is certainly an interesting challenge. Are there any particular design constraints we should observe? Is the goal something practical, or something lofty and idealistic(and longterm)?

Make us dream the impossible dream! If done well, I don't see why we should limit ourselves! Don't forget to add your link in the comments and email me the URL as well!

If you don't have a blog, you can use Google Docs, or make a post in the My Eve section of these forums and send that link along to him. Just my 2 cents. Cool

I think it's worth asking if CCP are a bunch of religious fundamentalists the way Earth is the only planet that ever produced life in the EVE universe.

edit: to clarify. Where the heck are the other races of beings? I mean, aside from the Jove/GM's.

I can sum it in one single sentence . . .

Seriously . . .

"Planetary conquest will be roughly equal to, if not identical to, the present in game mechanics and monotony of POS warfare" Wink

I'm sure it HAS NOT ruined it! The RTS aspect of planetary control within the MMO EVE Online could still live in a game mechanic where DUST 514 players have an influence within the game. Please submit your entry, you still have a chance to interview the Devs. And that should be reason enough to participate!! Good luck!

I now only would want an interview with a CCP Dev so I can verbally blow them to bits like I wanted to do to the Star Wars Galaxies NGE developers back in 2005 when they announced the destruction of what was then the only OTHER (than EVE) non level based skill based sandbox MMO.

I posted my entry in the comments section of your original post, but I'm also posting a link here for redundancy. Cheers :)

Edit- and what I meant by 'ruined' was basically I had a very similar idea of an integrated FPS/RTS design for planetary interaction and control. I should have posted it a few days earlier so that Hillmar didn't steal my thunder lol.

So will the winners be people you just happen to like, with entries that don't follow the rules, like your last competition/traffic generation event?

Hi Crazy nice contest just wondering how I can go about getting a CCP dev to agree to be interviewed for a prize; I plan on holding a similar contest and would very much like to entice entries by offering such an amazing prize as you have. I think I remember seeing a link on the news page of the client that even led me to your blog! I would like to know if opportunities like this are given to all and how would we go about accessing them or is it Orwellesque and are you one of the animals that is more equall than the others?

For the community detpartment/marketing department of CCP to sponsor a competition you need to be on the official list of fansites. And to do that you simply need to fill in an online form and see if they accept you. They seem to accept most sites that apply.

After that you can e-mail them with a proposal and if they like it they will probably run a competition with you.

List of fansites

Submit your fansite

Instead of asking what CCP can do for you, ask what you have done to promote their game :)
