Station Aggression:
This is the boring part of PvP. How about upping the aggression/docking time for stations to 2 min? Can you do this without telling anybody :)?

Auto Piloting:
Is there any real reason why the autopilot cannot warp you 0 to a gate? Also, some visual indicator of Safe vs. Shortest would be a nice feature. Currently, it's buried in the F-10 screens. Get rid of one of the less useful Neocom buttons and replace it with a Safe/Shortest toggle/indicator. While we're on the topic, warping your Pod manually to a gate sometimes results in the Pod being slightly out of jump range. Maybe you could adjust the inertia modifier to move Pods a little bit closer so that they are in jump range when they come out of warp.

Planetary Involvement:
OK, we have these nice big beautiful planets throughout EVE that do absolutely nothing except act as an anchor around which moons can rotate. Actually, I don’t even think the moons rotate; they defy the known laws of physics and remain in a stable fixed position. Yet, we have all these facts about each planet, rotation speed, mass, temperature, etc. Why bother unless that information is of some use.

So how about we forget about walking in stations for the moment (although the idea holds lots of promise) and get these planets activated. Planets could be the new way of holding sov. Own the planet and own all the moons around that planet. Own more than 50-75% of the planets in a system and own sov in that system. Planets could be taken through bombardment of critical structures from space and once thus destroyed, the planets become neutral until a faction builds another series of specialized structures on the planet.

Take and hold the planet for XX days and you automatically own the POSs and their components. No more lugging around POS towers and arrays. Once they’re setup, they are there to stay unless the anchoring corp. takes them away.

Planets can be mined and setup to generate energy. This energy could be used to power moon-based POS towers and allow bigger moon mining and industrial operations. Think of what could be on-lined with the power of a planet behind it!

Planets will contain the offensive systems for POS towers and players will no longer need to build death stars just to keep their POS alive. POSs would just have to contain optional defensive batteries such as warp disruptors, energy neuts, etc. All offensive systems would be planet based.

Sub-capital ships can land on planets and make use of player built facilities such as repair bays, medical centres, research slots, etc.

Planets would have an unknown but finite quantity of minerals, ancient artifacts and exploration sites. Players would have to discover these riches through exploration.

I hope this thread generates lots of interest and people post their thoughts and ideas on what should be fixed/changed.

To sum it up: yes, let's fix EVE.

Discussing 10+ topics in one thread (you should have made a second post in therad one instead of two seperate threads) is not feasible.

I prefer a solution that I had a long while ago. The solution was that when you engage on the same grid (Or grids connected to that grid via grid-fu) as a station, that station will permanently deny docking rights until you leave the grid and come back again via warp or cyno.

Forgive my ADD but I won't read too far into that. But the main problem I see is "Eve physics" that would need to be explained / applied to make planetary combat viable. We fly bricks, and have engines only on the back side of our brick, how would this work with gravity? It wouldn't, not without backstory or atleast some high powered thrusters below the ship to keep it in the air.

Planets don't move to save lag, and because we'd never see them but once every few years considering how far out many of them are and that EVE time = Normal time. There is no time acceleration, so that big planet you see today might not swing back around for 5 years or more. Jupiter takes 11 years to go around, so let that give you an idea how bare space would really be if planets orbited the suns properly.

That, and EVE lore says jumpgates could only be placed in binary systems, and I've yet to see one binary system.

I agree with this. If you aren't gonna be there you shouldn't be as fast as someone who is. I don't much care about docking games since it's mostly high sec and I hate empire wars.

If I was gonna pick something to fix about the autopilot it would be to have it take me to the station I selected, rather than just the system.

It's a very tiny annoyance, but when I buy something, select destination and hit auto, I hate when it dumps me someplace like Ousalert with 7 or 8 stations, 3/4 owned by the same corp, and 2 or 3 of them factories and/or warehouses.

Yes, it's easy to open my assets windows, and select Dock from there....but it's annoying. I can just imagine Aura floating in her tank with a smug grin on her face...

well to fix eve you need to:
-fix the tempest
-fix projectiles
-give assault ships their 4th bonus
-tune down lasor dmg a bit
-give out free quafe

make all ships into drone boats.

take away all weapons that arent drone related.

Heck I'd settle for just a fix to station humping. How about a simple rule: if you take any aggressive action in sight of a station, you have to dock at some other station or jump out of the system before you can dock at that station? Or at least warp away off grind and come back. Ditto with jump gates...A jump gate sees you shoot, you gotta use some other jump gate or dock somewhere else. In a dead-end system with no stations? Well, you're going to die.

I kinda like just upping it to 2 minutes, but that just tips the balance more and more in favor of heavily-buffered ships with remote rep support. Just saying "you can't dock or jump, you gotta warp first" levels the playing field and makes warp scramming just as meaningful around a station or gate as in deep space. Imagine if people had to think twice before undocking that station-humping carrier!

Oh yeah and to beat a dead horse: remote repping someone with an aggro timer should trigger whatever anti-dock anti-jump mechanic there is.
