Maybe this is weird from my part but i was just wondering, are there known facts in the lore about normal life things?
For example, do people play sports and what kinds of sports? What music do they listen to, and are there any music form preserved from around our time? I assume they wont use cd's anymore so how do they play music? all stored in digital files?

yes i wonder about the litle things in life :)
thanks in advance

New Eden is supposed to be absolutely enormous, mate. We're talking an unknown number of people here, but presumed to be somewhere in the trillions. The cultural diversity is going to be HUGE.

With that in mind, I'd say yes they play sports, no I don't know what kinds beyond saying that if you can dream it up, it's probably valid (most of them probably involve causing balls to move around in interesting ways). They listen to pretty much any kind of music you can think up and then some, but it's doubtful that any Terran music has survived twenty-one thousand years and a dark age. And data is stored on something called a "datacore" and is most likely distributed digitally to people's private portable electronics, or a "Cloud" system where everything is stored remotely and can be accessed from any terminal anywhere provided you log in.

that said, the range of lifestyles available in New Eden ranges from the next best thing to Imperial Rome in some corners of Amarr, only with the difference that these "romans" can look up and see starships overhead, all the way up to Caldari CEOs who can commandeer a whole deck of a station for their private residences and fill it with all the most insanely expensive toys New Eden has to offer, like fish tanks without the tank, and all the water held in by force fields.

reading the chronicles seems to be the best way to get a feel for the minutiae of New Eden life, but there's scope there for your own invention too.

This offers some insight into music in New Eden.

As for sports, there have been a few news articles over the years outlining new ones or expanding on previously-mentioned ones, I'd have to look around for those. There is also a short passage in the Caldari racial description that I've seen some players build upon. Splinterz!! Razz

Generally speaking, there's quite a bit out there that you could consider "normal" information. It tends to pop up all over the place though, so really the best way forward I would say, is to just dive in and soak it up. Look around in chronicles, news articles, in-game content like missions and exploration...there's quite a lot of small, "normal" stuff littered about.

I strongly agree my Caldari friend.

Some of the older Chronicles and the Timeline of various Races is outdated and about to be changed in the near future.

Other then that, one can probably find all kinds of Lifestyles, Cultures and various Arts.

If you want to introduce something that falls out of the norm, it can be easily placed as happening in one of the Border Worlds. Also most Planets have no Backstory yet and Cities or Events can be placed there without causing conflict with the Source Material.

The fact that you have even asked here indicates that you have the proper judgment to fill in a bit of the massive EvE gaps without issue.
