Is it a Lag issue?
Is it a time issue?
Is it a staffing issue?
Many Alliances enjoy a Custom logo, you may have seen them when checking a Corp's Info page, All the alliances that is, that were able to submit them before 2009.
Since that time we've had a new 'Submission tool' that GM's acknowledge hasn't worked in 6 months. The Application page is still there tho, and hasnt been removed, and according to your Submission Number, the applicants are now in the hundreds.
My Question for the Eve Community is this: "Are Custom Alliance Logos Necessary, and should there be an effort by ccp to re-instate the old system that worked fine'.
Personally (Biased as an alliance Leader) i would like to see the efforts of organised corps to be rewarded, and members able to fly proud under a banner that is unique to their organisation, instead of a generic 5 piont star that we are now all stuck with.

Thats becuase the Submission tool has been 'Broken' for the last 6 months according to Gm's. Disabled is another good word for it  Incase you were wondering how the new submission process was meant to work when it was released, the .psd file is uploaded, a Staff member Specifcly hired to screen them was to check them, and then the Logo was to be sent to the Art department (in the US?) to be polished. Once finished by the art department, It was to be seeded in the next following Patch. |

They should bring them back for a fee or add a higher ISK fee to get a custom logo (maybe 50bil)? They add flavor to the game but now alliances are a dime a dozen, so CCP runs into a time/staffing issue. I can't imagine it's lag since I believe logos and such are stored clientside and the server just needs to tell you "load this picture." |

If Lag is the issue, than i totally agree with the scrapping of custom logos, Game playability and performance should allways take priority over aesthetics. If this is the Issue tho, why are the pre-2009 Custom Alliance Logos still active? Originally by: Kaakao

The Forum submit tool was the new mechanic for easier submission. BTW The correct insulting ccp meme is 'Soon™', not 'It's released when it's done™' I think they scrapped that term back in 2006 after people finally got tired of seeing it posted in the forums by Devs. I'd like to know what happened to the CCP employee that was hired to prescreen logos, has he still been on the payroll for the last 6 months, and if so, what does he do? |

Sucks for me, I actually make isk creating alliance logos. If they don't get fixed, there will be no reason to buy any. |

Being able to put logos on your ships would be marginally amusing for about a week. Then it would probably get disabled in the options menu, because the lot of you have ugly, moronic, and creepy logos not worth looking at.
Considering the development effort and performance consequences, you'd think they would do something about the corp logo creator first.
I mean, you can get lots of combinations out of it and players have been creative, but compared to even today's character creator its hilariously bad. Since beta, the only thing they did was add a dozen more pictures. Now you can submit custom logos - which is one reason why people simply pay the 1bil isk alliance fee, and soon you'll be able to customize the hell out of a 3D walking avatar.
Corp logos.. will still be crap.

yes, because due to the size of the logos nobody could really see them as it was explained in the past on why not. this eventually got sorted into low impact high effort group of features and ideas, and generally gets shelved for a long time. |
