Anyone got a good anime suggestion for me? Something in the War category would be awesome.

In this genre I've seen:

Fullmetal Alchemist
Code Geass
Full Metal Panic
Irresponsible captain Tylor
Now and Then, Here and There
Gundum
Macross/Robotech

Any good war anime you could recommend?

Enraku Reynolt
Minmatar
Navy of Xoc
Wildly Inappropriate.

Preferably war but boom boom works too so long as it's good boom boom.

go here, watch everything on my list, and look at the "planned" section to see whats coming up that I feel is worth seeing.

Rvaldez5987 anime list

Btw, for the ratings, 10 = can't miss, 9 is good, 8 is ok, 7 average, anything less is meh or droppable.

You scored Ghost-07 a ten? I dont think it deserves that.
Also your list includes a lot that arn't in the genre that the OP asked for but its a pretty good list. Very Happy

But I forgot about Elfin Lied, if you (BlackDragonShadow) see one thing this should be it.

Oh yeah I've seen that one. That thing pulls you in in the first 60 seconds. Boobs and a gratuitous amount of violence. What's not to love?

I also learned from watching that anime that the average anime character has 85 gallons of blood in them.

Sorry I actually really like 07 Ghost. It has nothing to do with the homosexual undertones or male camaraderie.

Are you watching the new "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood" series? I don't like that it takes place at the same time with the same characters of the original one, but so far it has been a great rehash of the old story.

Haha yeah actually. It's pretty good but I'm basically being forced to watch it with a friend of mine. I guess it's supposed to follow the manga verbatim where as the original split off from it like half way through.

pumpkin scissors
aim for the top!/gunbuster

cant remember anything else off the top of my head since im not at home and dont have my comp in front of me. as for hellsing ultimate i thought it was better then hellsing alot more gritty then the original and supposedly more true to the manga, though there isnt much of it out atm. same goes for the new full metal alchemist from what ive heard its truer to the manga but from what ive seen its quite a bit more light hearted then the original series.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Ghost in the Shell: 2nd Gig
2 seasons which lead up to one of the great moments in anime imho. Tachikoma ftw

One Piece
Dragonball for the next generation, in a sense. But a lot better and somewhat more plausible in a way.

Jungle wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu
Completely insane anime, hilarious. Guu is probably one of the scariest characters ever conceived, if you think about it.

Slayers
One of my alltime favorites. Slayers, Slayers Next and Slayers Try - Funny and exciting, and pretty deep in a lot of ways without losing it's humor :)

more war-themed ones... Valkyria Chronicles is nice, the Banner/Crest of the stars saga is awesome, and any space operas you can find aswell.

Beserk!

I forgot about it, it's old but it is still one of my favorites in part because it focuses on character development rather then following very set plot line.

Ghost In The Shell films and the two 24 Stand Alone Complex series are brilliant. Good characterisations and great storylines.

It has two listings it seems the MoHS is MoHcS you are refering to is a different version then the one regularly thought of which he gave a ten.

Its something I've taken a renewed interest in as well of late. I've just finished watching Death Note and its starts off as a really gripping detective story but later episodes dealing with the death of a major and much loved character and the main characters descent into madness are a little wearing.

Elfen Lied - I sat and watched the whole series in one evening when I first got it. There is a lot of violence and nudity in it but aside from one disturbing scene the nudity is not of a sexual nature. The ending made cry and I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, there are a few flaws with it - an over reliance in flashbacks in later episodes, some awkward comedy in earlier episodes that doesnt really sit well in the whole series and the English dub, while good, has a few too many breathy high pitched voices for my taste. There are a lot of loose ends that scream for a second series but in truth, I think that Elfen Lied should be left as the excellent one-off it is.

Afro Samurai and Resurection: Plenty of kung-fu badassery, a simple plot about the nature of revenge and a whole host of various freaks and screw ups. The series is excellent and the Resurrection film really would have been better as a second series.
