I would be fine with this as long everybody were allowed to undock in shuttles only.

Tbh, I'd rather have a world event that causes mass unrest.

I know its a sin to say so - but the pre-WOTLK events in WoW were incredible fun. What started as a tiny, controllable zombie instance soon became a full on pandemic. Mass unrest and zombie slaughter across all cities. People dying left and right and zombie gank squads roaming the plains.

It was awesome.

EVE needs some kind of universe wide celestian event that really ****s **** up - get some unrest across empire, screw up the entire market for a while. So far the most we've had is "OH NO, SOMETHING IS GOING TO HIT A PLANET!.. and it did.. and now we have wormholes."

Make the damn game interesting and dynamic! Hell, even have an empire war between Gallente and Caldari NPC ships which freely attack players and drive them into Low/Null to get away from it all...

RAISE HELL IN EMPIRE. Trigger some events that don't require every little bit of imagination from the player and just force something into their face.

In WoW you don't lose anything when you die. 1 death in Eve can cost you hours and hours of time grinding.

Also, if you think the petition queues are long now...

So basically - EVE is forever doomed to be a stale universe with no events that even come close to impacting gameplay.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

Do you remember the amount of whining that came with the event? I was hard pressed to stay on beta because of general chat.

I agree, as long on the same day no weapons work, no missiles fire, no webifiers web, no scrams scram, etc etc etc.

The trouble with people like you (and your followers) is that you want the game to played on YOUR terms. This game is for everyone, not just you l33t little pvp'ers.
I know you'll find this hard to believe, but not everyone actually wants to pvp. Some people are quite content to mine, to mission *****, to build, to trade. When you look at the star-map is see what systems are busy, the strange thing is, you l33t 0.0 space living monkeys are in the vast MINORITY. 90% of the total Eve population seems to be living in high sec, where they are happy playing their game, that they pay for, in the way that makes them most happy. So who are you to tell them how to play the game? Who are you to tell them what to do and how to do it? Oh, thats right, you're nothing, you cant tell people what to do.
Finding the targets in 0.0 a bit too skilled are you? Is that why you hope to get some easy noob pickings?

You stuff I can has?

BTW, the players make the events. Go poke your nose in to Providence, fly around a bit. Then you'll see events. Not every day, but some days it's quite epic. If you've got real b4lls, go check out Delve or Querious. Then you'll see some spectacular events. Let's not make empire any more interesting shall we? That's just begging more people to hug concord.

How about on the days of these special events, once you're podded, you're permanently dead?

"I tried to hold them back, but there were too many for one guy to handle! Many of the angry mobs were chanting that the loss of security and subsequent carnage was directly related to the whims of the damned pod pilots and it was time for revenge. Before I could call for reinforcements, the mobs were destroying the cloning chambers, stomping on the lifeless husk of clones. I thought those things [clones] were not alive, but their screams still haunt my dreams..."

Nah, we've just found out the CCP will cater to the biggest whiners. It's not a matter of gaining any ground anymore, but possibly we could keep pvp from being nerfed further into oblivion if we cry hard enough that we want MOAR stuffz.

My favorite bit from that event was when the zombie players cussed out or whine about players that would cleanse or kill them, claiming they were griefing them or ruining their gameplay.

I figure this is nothing but a troll, but I'll reply anyway.

It must be the OP's wet dream to go into a busy system, like Jita, and just shoot at everything in sight with no consequences to him. Unfortunately, that would never work. If the time of such event would be known in advance, we would just see an all time low in logged in numbers during that period. And even if unannounced, the players who don't like getting shot at will get the idea quickly enough and you will be having just empty systems all around EVE within an hour.

And an exploding petition cue as well as the forums. But I guess that too is something the OP is dreaming about.

Go to low-sec, 0.0 or W-Space if you want to shoot people.
Don't whine here and demand CCP throw all the high-sec players into a barrel for you to shoot into with no consequence or effort.

Will never happen on Tranquility. Maybe on testserver, but never on mainserver. That is something you can be sure on!

Just as you can be sure on CCP will never make whole EVE empire space for one day.

and to be honest, i am still waiting for the day when a drunk dev lands 5 titans in jita on 4-4 and just lets loose with the dd's :)

granted you know he would replace said ships, it still would be awesome.

I was there. It was hilarious. Deliberately getting infected and exploding in the Auction House, turning everyone there into zombies, including the auctioneers... muahaha.

And there was durability loss for dying to the guards as a zombie, so anyone who was AFK in the major cities ended up with a repair bill. And nobody could quest or buy anything due to the NPCs all being zombified and killed. Oh god, the whining was epic. SO MUCH FUN.

CCP Wrangler recently stated that Oveur still wants an expansion named TÖTALHELLDEATH introduced. Laughing

The name was created by CCP to fit a conecpt, shown at fanfest, of disabling Concord and turning EVE into a total war-zone apocalypse. Pirates and griefers orgasm'd at the sheer thought of it but the voice of reason within CCP sadly prevented it.

Word is, that you can find Devs hiding in secret rooms in the basement of CCP's offices, secretly plotting the advent of TÖTALHELLDEATH.

I hope we'll some day see it go live.

The same day all the police on earth will take a day off all at once.

Why the **** would they turn concord off for a day?

Do you know how many deaths would be petitioned in that one DAY. Do you want a petition cue that's 9 months long instead of 4 weeks long?

What don't you just move to 0.0?

You can shoot anything you please... and guess what?

Unlike the noobs and carebears you'd be shooting in High-Sec, in 0.0 your targets would probably fight back!

Oh wait... unless you mean... you just want to kill noobs and carebears.

Sure! Long as the other six days of the week become 100% consentual-only PvP. Then six days of the week people can fly around and LOL at your frustrations and impotence and one day of the week let you take it out on the other frustrated e-peen wavers that login hoping against hope someone will be stupid enough to let you shoot them.

Of course, within a month it'll be nerfed and changed to Tuesdays or whatever day has the lowest connection levels so as to reduce the impact on gameplay. Then within six months it'll only be an hour. Then within a year it'll only be the hour before DT. ugh

While I think EXCESSIVELY and UNNECESSARILY harsh to someone I honestly think was just joking around... You make some VERY damn good points. It reminds me a lot of my plight with a friend of mine who see's Eve-Online as a PURE PvP game and nothing but. Mining, Production, Trades, Mission'ing are nothing but ways to make money to buy ships for PvP. I HAVE TO DISAGREE! Eve is about finding your own destiny. Finding your own path to your own glory.

When you think about it, the 50 Thousand or so active players in the game. That's just the 50 thousand out of Billions and Billions of people in New Eden, and only those select 50 thousabd are able achieve a true glory. The rest are doomed to lives of mundane labor, famine, disease, war, and death. We have the potential for glory and we seek it in what ever way we choose.
