Id like to thank everyone for taking the time to respond to my problem. ive downloaded cpuid hw monitor, and all im getting is my hard drive temp.

Id like to also mention that since ive updated the new video card drivers ive had lines and dots appear on my screen (not in game) so, either i installed the wrong drivers...or the problem is no longer in game :(

Both those things point to a hardware problem. Open up the case and clean out all the dust, check for any loose connections or loose screws on the motherboard as these could cause minor shorts, try a different power supply if you have a spare, preferably a more powerful one.

If none of that helps try updating all the drivers for your motherboard. You'll usually find them by going to the manufacturer's website.

At this point it really helps to have a second similar computer that you can swap components with to try and isolate what's causing the problems.

What are the rest of your system specs?

the only 2 power supplies i have at home are both 500 watts each.. my video card only requires 450.. this problem only began when i started running 2 characters.. so its most likely due to that.

ive also discovered that my processor is running a little hot.. its always at 60C... so either the processor is damaged or the motherboard.. either way im going to format the hd and try installing xP.. seems like the wise thing to do...

and to respond to all those rude comments critisizing my bad english... bite me :)

Two or so patches ago, eve started pushing my gpu alot harder than before. The temp is stable and acceptable, but the fan does between 50% and 100% more rpm, which is annoying. I've had interval one set all the time. Nothing in my setup hjas changed. And no, my computer isn't dusty; it's a brand new build.

1. No it is not related to running two characters.

2. Your hardware is failing somewhere. Get someone with enough brains in that area to look into what is failing. No, it is not caused by running Eve or Fallout. Reinstalling Windows will most likely not fix your problem.

3. it has nothing to do with your english but having major run on sentences that just do not end .. is kind of annoying .. when it goes on and on and on and on and you never know when it will end ..... you know .... there are periods and capitalization in normal human language ... in any language beuase there is that sentence structure thing and you follow it because otherwise it just keep going and going and going ....

If your card only requires 450watts then you might want to make sure you have enough power with a 500...use this to calculate what kind of power your system should have:

1. You said you get something like lines and dots? Care to explain? Do you get strange artifacts (lines and dots as you said) during boot? In general graphical corruption means bad news for your graphics card. Especially if you're getting artifacts during boot you might consider your GPU nearly dead.
2. Run memtest86. If you don't know what it is google it.
3. If you have a DMM (multimeter) available check voltages (under load) on your +12V, +5V and +3.3V rails. They should be within +/-10% tops. If not your PSU is possibly giving up. Do NOT use any program (i.e. speedfan) to check voltages. They will give you false values and potentially make you think your PSU is bad even if its fine. ONLY a multimeter will give you accurate readings.
4. Last but not least consider backing up and reinstalling windows.

Regarding temperatures, a gpu running at 70-80 degrees is nothing to be worried about. Especially if its an ATi. Unless it reaches 90-100 or more theres nothing to be alarmed of.

Theres NO way in hell interval settings will fry your GPU. Thats impossible. Interval settings are just VSync settings. Theres no point on setting interval: immediate unless you have a monitor running @ 100 or more Hz. On your normal LCDs you'll have a refresh rate of 60 to 75 Hz. In a modern system with vsync off EVE will give you more than 100fps but that will result in tearing. In other words, the game sends 100 frames per second but your monitor can only display 60 (if its @60Hz). So some frames get lost and tearing occurs. Interval:immediate should only be used for benchmark purposes. Not general gameplay.

kaliba mort:
You are absolutely correct, formating the hard drive and install xp did not fix the trick. It has been brought to a local computer store for a full hardware diagnostic.

Barakkus:
After the calculations, yes it went over 500 watts a bit...

El Smol:
Yes, i do have strange characters during bootup. In fact i had plenty during my windows Xp install, and when Windows Xp was fully installed... the artifacts remained.
I know my GPU isnt fried because the ATI was brand new, I really dont think I am capable of frying a video card in 3 days. As for the multimeter check, I'm going to have to pass because thats out of my leagueShocked

Well you can still check memtest. It'll make sure your memory modules are working properly and error-free. Its rare but possible for problematic memory modules to give you artifacts.

Me got an old sturdy Gainward GLH 7800GT,was running EVE on it for 3 years.Installed a big fat cobberfan on it,so far rocksteady.Very HappyBtw XP user here, one acc ...and all drivers up 2 date.
Well after taking a break from EVE for like 2 months,i installed the lolfalconnerf.
Reading ppl getting blackscreen and that, was thinking myself cool i have no such thing on my pc.
After installing the lolfalconnerf i suddenly had BLACKSCREEN myself only when playing EVE.Pc was fine before that patchmadness,so now my sturdy grafficcard just died.
Personally i think CCP killed my card with their ****ed up patches ,but mebby it was just time running to the store and getting a new one.
