Ive got a game a few years old i wanna reinstall. I try to install it but it says its not compaable with the version of windows im running is there anyway aorund this?

do this...

Right click exe

click properties

click compatibility (Sp?)

then click drop down window

then click Run as Windows Xp service pack 2

Then click Apply

Then Click Ok

THen ????

Then Profit

well in all honesty... its not that bad since sp2 has been released... and it ironed out alot of the bugs.

If that didn't work, you can try to explicitly run as an admin. Right click the exe or shortcut and there should be an option to run as administrator. This has helped me in the past on one or two occasions. Then again, it could be the game you are trying to run simply won't work no matter what. You could always dual-boot with windows 3.1 if you want.

Ultimate is a beast Very Happy. I have it (And a legitimate copy you'll be pleased to hear) already, just waiting on the final build of SP2. The last time i downloaded a service pack (XP, Sp3) my computer, literally, rejected it and decided not to fully boot into windows, so i'm hoping that doesnt happen again.

That is a full working SP2, non beta. Its for MSDN Developers only tho. It isnt a beta, that is the full blown release of it for your pleasure.

But warning... Sp2 will take 1 WHOLE Hour to install.

Thats with a Raid 0 3gb/s Raptor setup.
