lets assume the following:
a = b
Now, we do stuff
a^2 = ab :multiply by a
a^2 - b^2 = ab - b^2 :subtract b squared
(a - b)(a + b) = b(a - b) :factor them
a + b = b :divide by (a-b)
b + b = b :because a=b
2b = b :combine like terms
2 = 1 :see? |

Wrong ! If a=b then a-b = 0. You can't divide stuff by 0.

Wtf? You still cant divide by zero on the z plane either.
Sure, one way of complex integration is searching for and integrating around singulairities, but imaginary number are there so you can root negative numbers (oversimplified, yes), not so that you can divide by zero.
Otoh, there truly are some very abstract algebraic form where zero is not a non-divider, but that requires about 6 years of uni math to even begin to understand. |

You're talking gobblede****. If a is treated as a function of c and b is nonzero, then we have an asymptote at c=0. If b is zero, then a is 0 everywhere except c = 0 where a is undefined. As for the OP's example, it's just saying 1*0 = 2*0, therefore 1 = 2 which is obviously fallacious. |
