anybody have any thoughts how this happens ???
i sometimes sees it at stargates too...

my system:
C2D E8400 3Ghz
Geforce 9800gtx+ with latest whql driver 182.50
4GB DDR2 800mhz ram
windows xp sp3 with all latest update

actually i had the same effect while enabling HDR and bloom (ati 4850)

i got rid of it by disabling bloom

I have ATI 4870

large white spots in belts mainly.

I disabled bloom and all fixed.

it's usually happen in deadspace, but sometimes i saw it at stargate too
the white spot was big enough to covered the whole stargate....

oh yes and i did what others told turn off the HDR, the problem gone...
is there any other workaround without turning off HDR ???

I had this problem, too but only once! And it only happened when I switched to windows while warping into deadspace... then 2 of the structures evolved to bright white stars ;)

But when I don't switch to windows too often then nothing like that happens...

AA in combination with HDR and Bloom is causing this. Simply put AA is not supported by EVE :( If you turn it off (use application preference) in your catalyst control center it will be fixed.

Nvidia users seem to be able to get this working with an nHancer work-a-round. No luck for ATI users yet though.

Turn catalyst ai off, it fixes the white flicker blobs and adds some fps
