Yeah, I guess this is a logical fix.
No, not happy about it, as it creates another incentive for people to just stay in hisec.

Further, with all the other things that need fixing, with limited programming resources, not sure if this was something that people were clamoring for. Did I miss the thread? "Oh NOES! This 'bug' means I get to finish my skill before I need new implants! CCP FIX THIS NAO!"

That said, if they decided that this was a fringe benefit that needed to stop, and they decided to reprogram the 'quick and ugly' code specifically for that reason....

Then why the hell do I still have to "Pause training" to clone jump and to plug in implants? Why doesn't it just automatically get recalculated on the fly, as happens when I get podded?

Don't understand how CCP can be arsed to reprogram the code to prevent the 'ghost implant' effect, yet still not bother to fix the clunky 'pause training' workaround and make things more convenient for the user.

As I said, not the end of the world - just my irritated two cents.

Possibly they claened up the skill training code as part of the effort to fix the skill queue?
