I understand that any corp in the alliance that want to use the labs must have an office in the same system as the labs.

However, my question is in regards to how the mechanics handle the ISK that the labs charge for usage. What wallet does it take out of? Does it take from my corp's research wallet still or the other corps master/active wallet.

Thanks,

Ishikari

the corp using the labs has their master corp wallet deducted and it goes into your master corp wallet.

/me hijacks thread.

How does the corp in the alliance get the BPC after a copy job? are they able to access the labs corp hanger?

Alliance members can't do any research that requires input or output other than the base BPO being researched. Thus, they are limited to only doing ME/PE research on T1 BPO's (with the few exceptions that require materials).

Payment is always made to the master wallet of the corp owning the labs, but it's taken from whatever division is set as active for the person installing the job; i.e. not necessarily the master wallet.

This brings up another question.

So the person in the other corp must have access to a division of the corp wallet or he/she will not be able to install a job? Also, does the person need rent roles in his corp as well?

I wonder if eve will blowup if the job installer does not have corp wallet access =P

Thanks,
Zen

Yes to all your questions. (well, maybe not the "will eve blow up" one)

POS labs simply don't work with individuals, only with corps, so you'll need all the roles and access that you would need to start a research job through corp at any lab slot.

Kinda on topic

Can you setup a pos so somebody outside the alliance can use the research slots?
Thanks

This is due to two things. First is the fact that alliance members can't be granted the corporation roles required to access the hangars on the Mobile Labs, where you might need to put input materials (same with invention).

Second, with the way CCP coded where jobs output, it will try to output the BPC's into the corp hangar in the Mobile Lab of the corp who started the job, but since the Mobile Lab doesn't belong to that corp, the BPC's disappear into the ether and required a GM to retrieve them. Unsurprisingly, CCP got tired of doing this for people and just disabled it entirely for alliance members.

but the BPO does that not need a corp hanger?

The corp that owns the tower does not need a corp bin at any stations because each lab has its own corp bins. You can fly out to the tower to install any blueprints, datacores for invention, and to retrieve any BPC's that completed running.

The bins of a corp, be they at a tower lab module or in a station, can only have items removed by members of that corp who owns them. Period.

Another corp can "drop" stuff into some corp bins (like Orca), but they will not be able to get anything back out of them.

If you are in an alliance, the corp owning the tower can "allow allinace use" for any or all lab slots, except for invention or blueprint copying processes since there's no way for this outside corp to install datacores or pickup the BP copies by themselves. These two items need to be placed, and picked up from, the tower lab directly. And, from what it sounds, CCP has finally removed the option to even start Invention/Copy jobs in this method.

Therefore, if a member corp of the alliance wants to use the ME/PE slots of your tower, they need to have their own corp bin in a system station that the tower is located. And, I do believe, this corp bin clause is mandatory. Meaning, the alliance corp must have an office with corp bins in order for the blueprint to properly be routed to the tower during installation of the job. It will not work if the alliance corp tries to install the blueprint from any of their member's personal station bins.

Lastly, alliance blueprints are not accessible to anyone else but the corp that started them. If I can recall, the owner of the tower can't even cancel jobs started by another corp. They can indeed offline the lab which (like if the tower gets blown up) will simply return the alliance corp's BPO back to their corp bins in station.

Yes and access to the corp wallet as well.
