I have already posted this idea in another thread, but i think it wasnt clear enough what i meant, so im trying again, because i find this idea pretty decent (i always find my own ideas pretty decent lol, but i hope others will find this one decent too, and give their feedback).

This idea would especially give a whole new meaning to grinding up various NPC corp standings, for those who like to grind up faction with as many NPC corps as possible.

Soooo, whats this unique named Rig?

Its a new type of rig. Each ship would get one new slot, specifically designed to hold these new rigs. Those rigs cold only be put in that slot, and not into the regular Rig-Slots

These new rigs would be relatively expensive, both LP wise and Money wise (and would therefore establish a new ISK-sink; no need to mention that ISK-sinks are always needed in Eve to keep the ingame economy stabilized)

But it would rather be a minor enhancement to a ship, for those who want to squeeze out that extra performance for their ship.

Examples:

Unique Caldari Navy Missile-Rig Alpha
Boni:
+1% to Cruise Missile Launcher Rate of Fire
+1% to Cruise Missile Velocity
+1% to Cruise Missile Explosion Velocity
Penalty:
+5% to Signature Radius (Penalty could be reduced by having the appropriate, already existing, Rig-Skill)

Unique Mordus Legion (insert Corp here) Missile-Rig Alpha
Boni:
+1% to Heavy Missile Damage
+1% to Heavy Missile Launcher Rate of Fire
+1% to Shield Regeneration Rate
Drawback:
5% Penalty to Ship Agility (Penalty could be reduced by having the appropriate, already existing, Rig-Skill)

Unique Sisters (insert Sisters Corp here) Exploration-Rig Alpha
Boni:
+2% to Scan Strength Probes
+20% to Scan Launcher Rate of Fire
Drawback:
5% Penalty to Ship Agility (Penalty could be reduced by having the appropriate, already existing, Rig-Skill)

Other Sisters Corp could provide another Exploration Rig, with slightly varying stats.

Wouldnt this be cool?

Rigs are by definition cobbled together, jury rigged, post-factory modifications. They don't really fit the concept of faction items. There is a faction rig for the Raven. It is called "Raven Navy Issue". I'm not kidding, btw. That is what a factory rig more or less looks like. When the big corporations start rigging ships, the results are faction variants and Tech II ships.

Gosh. then lets give it another name than "Rig" (INSERT OTHER NAME FOR IT HERE). Why must you Forumposters always be Hypocrites about new ideas?? I swear this is the last idea im posting here. Im dedicating my time to think out new ideas, which would clearly benefit the game, and all you can do is nit-picking about it.

Geeks anyone? Clearly, there are way to many geeks around here.

It'd not clear that it would benefit the game and your basically saying lets add another rig slot that only fits one module.

I've seen you poo-pooing other peoples ideas so take it like a man when yours gets knocked down.

It's a pretty poor idea.

Sounds like implants for ships, only these will die faster than the real implants.

The small gain, together with the high cost and easy loss will likely make these uninteresting to even the most interested.

Typical reply from the typical idea-forum clown. Could it be that i have been "poo-pooing" one of your ideas by any chance? this would explain your clownish reply. however, your saying its a pretty poor idea. could you please explain why (this time without acting like a clown)?

this would be up to CCP, to define what the costs / effects would be. It was only a suggestion how it could be implemented.

I stated why in my first line (which you ommitted to quote) and no you didn't ridicule my idea and I've got better things to do than counter back childishly.

I don't post in the ideas forum very often and if you are an example of the intellect of the posters I'm better off not bothering.

The costs are defined by us. Take the rigs for example. You pull the salvaged material out of wrecks and these drop in different quantities. However, the cost for producing a rig requires different amounts of these materials. Those materials that drop rarely, but are needed the most, then have are the ones that are of most value as they are simply hard to get. This together with the patience and will of people defines the price.

If you take this into consideration for a new kind of rig, one that has its own unique slot, then people will want to buy it and no matter how small you make the gain. It comes down to having it or lacking it. This will make them as valuable as implants or rigs.

It is not a bad idea in general, but I see no need for them as we do have rigs for ships and implants for players (and for getting an extra twist out of the game).

Btw you post almost exclusively in the ideas forum, according to your posting history (not that it matters for this thread; just as a side note, as for how you were trying to score a (rather pointless) point there. Lrn2 argue..).

O Rly. Here it is:

I left it out of the quote because it doesnt really make much sense at all.

i shouldnt have called it Rigs at all. Lets call it "Performance Enhancers" and lets leave the drawbacks out of it. The main attention is to add something unique to every NPC Corp, that can be acquired with LP points, and doesnt interfere with any existing equip or balancing, but still would be fun for some people to grind for it.

Your first post makes even less sense and why do you insist on calling me a liar. Why would I even need to lie about my forum posting? Just look here for proper statistics.

Perhaps your ideas are not so good because you fail at properly researching things before you mouth off.
