Great Video. Makes me wish EVE was a shooter type game. You should do it CCP. Just imagine the possibilities.

I remember there was a static picture of a city in pre-Apocrypha intro, though not sure if it was this particular one. Also he seems to have had access to full-res sketch-art and/or chronicle illustrations.

I would argue that having access to that kind of software and materials for making a fanvid is kinda cheating... but then I probably wouldn't create anything half as awesome with it, so i'll probably just shut up Smile

Oh, wait... who's StevieSG? The voice sounded somewhat female, and I wasn't aware of Stevie being a female name. Am I missing something, or is it just audio editors' magic?

I just get disappointed watching videos like this, as great as it is.

EVE is one of my favorite games ever, but it'll never approach anything close to what was in the video in terms of scale, storytelling, and combat. I want EVE to be the EVE that's in all of CCPs trailers.

This is for the Minmatar video!

Speaking of which I am going to make the movie about Minmatar freeing themselves off Amarr.

Video tools used:

- Photographed random well rusty furniture sticked together to resemble ships

- Generous duct tape, encasing random stuff and used random bullets.

- Plastic Star Trek low cost figurines crossed with some Native American miniatures, for the protagonists.

- Engulfed hoover recorded noise, for added realism!

Hell, I never know what to say after loads of nice comments - but thanks for the feedback and ideas! It definitely makes the weeks/months of bashing my head against the keyboard worth it. Very Happy

I'll try reply to some stuff in the thread.

* 'Grinded' - wow, I didn't spot that at all. Embarassed It came directly from the Chronicle and I gave Stevie the text to record so it's my bad.

* 'City / Nouvelle Rouvenour shot' - These are 3D comps created in After Effects. They don't inherently use the CCP software, though it would've been a real ***** to create without it. Caldari Prime is essentially a pile of Caldari stations flipped around to build a city-like skyline. I took a bunch of hires screen grabs of this (with a green background for easy keying) and chucked them into AE in a 3D comp. The rest is Particular and a bunch of stock explosion and smoke footage composited in.

There's a bucket of nitpicks I have with the vid as well, over ships used and all sorts of other bits and pieces. I had to take some creative license to get an actual battle across.. as really we only have the Chronicle and the models in the game to go by.

At the end of the day if I'd kept fiddling it would've gone on for another year and I'd have probably killed myself. Very Happy

Greetings.

Very nice and welldone.

Especially the planetary scenes ... I really wondered how you did it; and your explanation about makes it feel even better.

What I'd like to know - also with regards to other fan videos: How do you do this "formation flights"? Especially with the drones???

I am impressed! And that, although I am a Gallentean carebear!!!

Greetings, fly reckless!
