It is possible to acquire an agression timer through shooting someone in lowsec or highsec, then dock, wait for the timers that are shown in the upper left corner to run out, then undock and still get shot at by sentry guns and/or faction navy.

Even if docking resets your timer with the faction navy, or that station, the timer should update to indicate that it has been reset.
it is currently very easy to end up getting a fragile ship blown up due to a hidden timer. from a player perspective, if the timer(s) have run out, then it should be safe to undock or go into the sight of sentry guns again.

it should never be possible to undock with positive sec status and no timers showing, and still be killed.
this is a well known bug among pirates, and plagues us all. GMs will not reimburse ships lost due to this bug either. they claim we are not always supposed to know when we could be shot.

I filed a bug report concerning this issue and i got this:
//At this time this is by design. If you would like to suggest a change to the current system though then please head over to the Features and Ideas Discussion board and please discuss your proposed change there. Thank you.
//BH Beuller

so by design, we should have no idea if we will be killed when we undock.
timers should always show ALL timers and should always reset properly!!

edit: i suck at spelling

It should defiantly reset each time, it certainly resets server side, that's why you keep getting shot, how hard would it be to fix the client side display?

its an intended feature to be that way according to several GM's and apparently the BH team. clearly this is not a bug. Rolling Eyes

well he was partialy correct ... it's like bookmarks ... they are stored on the server, but the organisation into folders/groups is entirely client side ...

Yes the onscreen timer needs to reset when the actual timer does. I lost several ships this way years ago. You can learn to work around it, but it's obviously a bug. I guess they just can't figure out how to fix it. Go CCP.

/me waits for a constructive ccp guy warning the "/signed" people, that they did not contribute any value to the thread. and yeah we know that it might theoretically lead to a forum ban

it would be damn cool to have a ccp feedback, public buglists stating the current state of bugs like the currently discussed one.

i really like the issue tracker of confluence ;o) okay after 3 years they recognize that sectional editing might be of customers value and its one of this issues which will never be fixed - but at least as customer im able to see that it is a known issue

/me votes for feedback from CCP

we dont need useful info, just people showing support for fixing this bug. CCP will not admit it is a bug.
if enough people post agreeing this mechanic is bullsh*t then maybe they will fix it.

Even tho the thought of pirates getting randomly shot down without warning is always funny, this does seem like something the needs to be corrected.
At least give them a warning when they unlock, that they could possibly be unlocking their ships for the last time.

I don't know which is more sad, if you actually believe that, or if you think that will goat them into fixing it.

I agree it should be fixed - wasn't it announced as fixed in one of the recent patches?

I lost my first ship to this issue yesterday. If it's by design then there needs to be some sort of alert on the player's side that your timer isn't actually gone when you think it is.

Good, I find this quite hilarious. You did something bad, tried to run from the consequences, thought you escaped, and popped. Hilarious!
