So I head over to the Fanfest 2004 link, and from there to the IcelandAir website to check out bookings and costs associated. I went there with the thought, if the cost was within reason for a trip all the way to Iceland, I would have considered whipping out my Visa...I can be crazy like that.
The first letdown was that no flights were set up for Canadians at all...and the second letdown was no flights departing from the US close to the Canadian west coast.
Just wanted to say it's a shame the Canadian players were essentially left out of this exciting opportunity. And getting a connector flight to one of the nearest US cities of departure, would have added a stupidly expensive amount to the overall cost.
After a few calculations, taking into account average cost to obtain a connector flight, and several other costs associated... a Canadian traveling to Iceland to take part in this special event, would mean shelling out an estimated 2k... if not more.
What a bummer CCP wasn't based in Canada.
Well, to all those who are able to attend, I wish you all the best of times. Your Canadian brothers and sisters will be there with you in spirit. Have a great trip.
