Is it just me or has there been nothing but gravimetric spawns in w-space since the patch yesterday? I and others I know have found nothing but gravi's and wh's in w-space since the patch.

maybe others did the anomalys/other stuff?

afaik there are always some grav sites that respawn as soon one belt got cleaned.

Are you sitting in closed WH with a pos , and cleared out the Radar/Mag/Ladar previously?

In that case with the odd exception it will mostly be spawning gravs and some combat sites , not the number of combat sites the system had when you first entered , but some.

For fresh Ladar/Radar/Magnometrics you need to enter "fresh" unknown territories and scan them down there.

If someone else has a PoS in a wormhole you entered today you can expect the same effect. PoSs will reduce the profability of the system they are set up in when it comes to WH space and should ideally be removed with extreme prejudice.

this is as of now still not yet confirmed or denied by a dev or so.
there was some devtalk in a different topic.

Haha lol

Yes sure system with pos are farm but or than that's is false. Pos don't affect at all respawn.

I've been part of 2 "posfarms" and on both of those systems we barely if ever had respawns of Radar/mag/ladar.

Combat and gravmetric respawned the other did not. The only "real" way for us to get access to the more lucrative sites was by entering fresh wormholes. And on the occasions that I've scanned out wormholes that already had poses in them those also seems to be lacking Radar/mag/ladar sites.

Went in a WH with no POS in system and also in that system there was nothing but gravimetric sites.

I've got similar experience with the wh I'm in.
But it doesn't have to be the POS causing it. Most people don't stay in the same wh long enough to notice respawns unless they setup a POS.

CCP , can you just remove gravimetric from cosmic sig ?

wouldnt that make it too easy then?

exploring is a profession :P
"everyone" can explore, but not that many are good with it :P

you can use up to 8 probes (or 7, depending on your skills) for "bookmarking" or probing multiple sites.

i can scan up to 3 sites at once with 8 probes atm, so it gets easier with each site you bookmark :)

With decent skills it takes less than 1 hour to completly scan down most systems.

You want any mid/lowskill explorer to be able to do it in 10 min by removing the sites with less than awesome income potential?

I smell missionrunner laziness tbh.

Agreed, completely mapping a system doesn't take to long but still my problem remains, there isn't jack sh*t but gravimetric respawns in systems since the latest patch. We even cleared out a few gravi's just to see if something else would spawn but nope, just more gravi's spawned to replace them. I'm thinking CCP broke something and made it so only gravi's spawn now.

Confirming that.

I live in w-space, and now I meet POS-farms more often... ok, - no Radar, no Mag - only Gravs, sometimes Ladar and POS-farms.

another POS operator reporting in.

First time in, we found multiple gas sites lots of grav sites. Now we're lucky to get a gas site a day. Would be great to get a dev to confirm or refute this.

I've had two radar site respawns since I put up my POS. Gas sites, not so much.

I honestly don't believe there's a linkage between POS presence and respawns. I've got no reason -- without a lot more data points -- to think that respawns are broken in any way, but if so, it will be a simple bug I'm sure.

I found two systems with 17 and 20 anamolies in them respectively. each had almost 20 sigs. totally scanned down one of them found alot of grav as usual plus mag, radar, and ladar. Seems to me from what others have written that it might be a site gets done despawns and respawns in the sort of w-system constellation of systems. This would seem explain why its possible to find systems like i found today, and why systems that the sites get completed daily in seem devoid of sites.

I think the problem is how exploration sites respawn. This kind of behaviour was know even before Apocrypha.

When you despawn a exploration site completing it, it respawn as a new exploration sites in a system of the same security level and same faction of NPC. For wormholes that mean that it will respawn in the same or another wh of the same difficulty.

What it will not do is to
- respawn as the same kind of site (it can be any of the different kind of sites);
- check if there are already sites with the same kind of signature in the system;
- check it there is a small or large number of signatures in the system.

What this mean:
- you despawn a radar site, it can respawn as a unknown/ladar/radar/gravimetric/magnetometric (equal chance I think);
- gravimetric and ladar tend to survive longer (you need more time to complete them than a unknown/radar/magnetometric and most gravimetric sites aren't worth completing);
- so the total number of gravimetrics and (to a lesser extent) ladar sites tend to increase;
- sites in busy/occupied systems are completed but then they respawn in a random system of the same level, so if you have 30 busy systems and 70 unused the exploration sites tend to migrate in the unused systems till someone discover them and start to despawn them;
- undiscovered exploration sites survive at least 3 days (I hope the "despawn after 3 days undiscovered" is still working) so they will trickle back from unused system at a pace way slower than the speed at wick the are pushed there by exploration in busy systems.

The net result is that when you enter a "virgin" system you generally find plenty of signatures but when you deplete them they return very slowly.

Personally I think it is a bad management of the exploration sites but it can be an intended feature to avoid farming.

^Slow, ran out of gas to mine and sleepers to kill. Back in low sec podding noobies till the system respawns something other than gravi's. BTW, had 3 respawns now I think, all of them were gravi's but we did finally gain one anomaly. So yeah, like 30+ sites have spawned since we got there, every last one of them a gravi. Hence speculation that it's broken. It's a class 5 system as previously mentioned.

Similar experience to above. Might indicate that one has to travel much deeper into W-Space to chase those spawns down. Just entering the WH from K-Space may not be enough anymore, as the outer layer has been scanned out.

The casual player will face a dilemma vis-a-vis W-Space. As exploration times become longer due to the need to navigate multiple wormholes, the incentive to go in at all is diminished.

Don't know if all this has any validity, but at least I realize I'm not the Lone Ranger, and now know why there are only grav and a few ladar sites.
