I have an Alienware laptop that i bought a year ago that i have no use for anymore, so I want to sell it. However, I've never sold or bought anything on ebay, and have never done any business using PayPal or any other types of internet payment types. I would like to hear from people who have done this, what in your opinion is the safest way to sell my PC?

ive done stuff like this loads of times on ebay, best thing to do is use paypal, and ebay, make sure you say that you will not post the laptop untill payment has been recived, then send the laptop via courier fed ex, ups, parcel force, securicore wherever in the world your at, and make sure its recorded delivery, and requires a signature when the recipient gets the parcel, this is proof that that got the laptop, so they cant keep it, and say they never got it and ask for there money back!

You can also add that the laptop is whatever dollars, plus the extra delivery charge, say $30 for UPS, so they pay the final price for the laptop, and add the delivery charge! or if your feeling generous, you can pay the delivery charge!

Make sure your description is very detailed and organized. Using pictures helps as well. I have seen many people sell good items with very poor descriptions all the time and they usually don't sell, or at least not at a high enough price.

Make sure you also do a complete format of your hard drive too and use a program that completely erases everything on there as a simple format or delete usually does not remove the files, just the shortcut. This is very important if you have vital data on there as there are ways of recovering files on a hard drive even after a format.

Thanks guys, i appreciate it. I'm just learning about PayPal and stuff atm, so I probably won't put up the auction until next week.
