"The Party", directed by Blake Edwards and starring Peter Sellers. I've seen it sooo many times and yet I still find myself laughing out loud watching that movie. THE comedy classic if there ever was one.

A bridge too far
Citizen Kane (can't believe nobody has mentioned this yet)
Saving private ryan
Shawshank redemption
The seven samurai
The good the bad and the ugly

i could go on forever, but if i had to pick one i'd go for the only film that ever made be blub - a sci-fi classic called Silent Running... ok i was 6 years old when it came out in 1973 but when the little robot dies....

Yeah, I tend to love the films that place emphasis on storytelling and character developments myself over the flashy effects. Some examples of mine include: Trainspotting, Lock, stock and two smoking barrels, Snatch, Reservoir dogs, Memento, Usual suspects, a movie with a good flowing plot/twist was spygame with robert redford and brad pitt, 12 monkeys. To name just a few. I can also state one of the best movies I have ever seen was A beautiful mind with russell crowe. Smile
