I just started Eve, I really love this game. A few days ago, I'm sitting there minding my own business at an asteriod field mining Veldspar w/ keyboard in one hand with the Eve owners manual and a root beer float in the other hand with extra whipped creamy topping in a frosty chilled glass.
Then it happened... I had been mining this spot for 1.5 hours and had maybe 1/2 to 1/3 a can full and guy in a Bestower comes along and takes my entire load of Veldspar!!!!

My initial reaction was, "WTF"??? Why did he steal my ore, which is now his load which I despertly want back. This made me so mad that I spilled some of my drink down the front of my pink sheer blouse, bra, and sheer lace thong panties..then I look down and see that my carpet was also tattered with root beer .. and now I have to clean that too???

From this experience I want ppl to realize that they are impacting ppls lives in real life and not just in the game.
Why should I be forced to wear a bath robe all over an ore thief's actions??? I have the right to play the game in the clothes of my choosing don't I or do ore thieves control that too?

I'd like to know if these types of ppl make good ISK doing this over making it in other means...after all I don't even know what my ore was worth until that guy took it. There was nothing in the Eve book that mentioned Ore Theives. Is ore thieving an art or can anyone do it?

Confused

These are the official EVE online game forums. This is not the place to discuss how and why you had to remove your clothes ugh

As a personal note, how come you didn't own more clothes then just the bathrobe? Wink

Rofl nout wrong with ore theives i'm just counting the posts before zeepo's name is mentioned... it normally is somewhere along the line when someone says "ore theif" Confused

Only good things will come from your experiance... you'll use secure cans or mine in parties where the chance of ore theft is minimal... like it or not ore theifing is in the game and here to stay i hope unless tomb stroles along with his nerf bat and gets it of course Twisted Evil

How is this theft ?

I am confused. You eject the ore into space wich according to the game rules means you dont want it then he comes and picks it up.

Shouldnt you be mining into secure cans ?

Since she's a newb.. she was probably in 0.8 space & above where you cannot anchor secure cans for them to be secure.

Not only that.. the EVE manual doesn't mention secure containers or anchoring. That information can only be found in the EVE Knowledgebase which also isn't mentioned in the new EVE user manual.

Do you ever throw things away? How about if u threw ur bank statement in the Wheelie Bin, or something personal like that, what if u saw some goon going thru ur wheelie bin...what would u do? Is it right? Would u not ask em wtf theyre doing, and perhaps nut them if they looked at u funny?

This will only open up new markets for agent runners, who will be most likely to have access to agents removing the flag for a decent cost.

A new business, someone buys your stolen ore for a lower than market value price, have the right agent remove the flag and sell it right back at market price. Or you can just pay the the fee plus brokerage costs. Of course, the latter requires trust, a thief might just rip off the thief Twisted Evil

This won't stop ore thieving, it will only open up new markets Idea

You know, i would even like it that way, now it's just an easy, no-risk way to make money.
The way you tell it, it's a job, has some risk involved, and a real black market.
But i wish indies good luck nicking the ore, as bs miners in 1.0 will prolly have some heavy drones. Wink
On a side note, whatever happened to the promise the devs made a lot CSMs ago about making it impossible for bs's to mine in 1.0?

Ok, your first problem was you were mining Veldspar.
Your second problem was you were Jettison-can mining.

Other than that, I had a good Laughing.

Three things:
Use secure cans (yes, that means leaving boring .8/.9/1.0 space).
Learn how to kill (this means leaving high security all together).
Put down your drink before getting all ****ed off.

I hope these pointers improve your gaming experience.
