Same problem as others... last night's patch wouldn't autoload. Grabbed the latest patch from this website and it says I already have that build (the build number in the top left of the login screen certainly was the most updated version). Incompatible build error.

Download overnight and that's corrupted. Choose the manual version instead. So that's several gig of my quota gone on the first day of my billing cycle.

Also, weapon upgrades IV was due to complete 30 minutes ago, letting me set a longer skill while I go to work.

Is something like this a valid case for skills reimbursement?It's not much but I have a fairly detailed skillplan because right now I can't do anything with my new corp.. need the skills to be of use!

Please make it so that deleting the patch is optional, so people who have several install folders only have to download the patch once.

hmmmm if i knew how to do that i would...was wondering if ya can copy EVE and put it on the comp cause my other comp has eve(not patched with new patch) n its havein the same issues as this one is...all that error BS...and unable to download crap...i can download music and such but when it comes to eve it isnt happening...where is this so called EVE Support????(why have a support area if it doesnt do jack?) iv put in numerous pet's and a crap load a posts! Im a ALLIANCE Merc/diplo for god sakes...n i need back in the damn game! altho...one thing that confuses me tho is my gf dl'd it with np...her nets better but the comps not so is the patch success based on net speed or some BS like that, is it like the best net survives or somethin? do your damn job CCP...this crap is gettin old...and my pateints is wearing thin...Evil or Very MadEvil or Very MadEvil or Very Mad

All I have to add to this is that I have been trying to get back in game since the release of the new patch. The 2 errors that I keep getting are a "check-sum" error, and "CRC failed in eveonline_84244.____" fill in the blank with either a manual patch, full build download, off line or on line download, etc. I have tried everything that has been suggested and so far non of them have worked.

I even bought the box set, but I had to re-install windows xp just to get the box set to install, and I had to use the /NCRC command line work around for the box set installer to run with out getting a "CRC failed in eveonline_84244.7z"

I now have a client installed, but it is build 74306. All "auto" updates and patches have failed with either a check sum error or the above CRC error. I am currently downloading my 5th or 6th attempt at getting this game to work, and that is just today.

The "online" patch update is giveing me this error:

Extracting evepremiumpatch74306-83913.exe
Extracting EVEPREMIUM.5.20.74306-6.10.83913.RTP
CRC failed in EVEPREMIUM.5.20.74306-6.10.83913.RTP


My computer specs are:

OS= XP Pro, SP2,
Video card, was ATI X800 gt, now is a ATI X1650 Pro
P4 @ 3.2GHz
2GB ram,
Internet connection = cable. (comcast cable is the isp, and yes its american east coast provider)

I hope this is help full information. And I look forward to the day when I can play again.

I've tried to autopatch with the client, and the download failed.
I've gone to the Tranquility page under EVE Patches, selected my current build (82442), and clicked find patch. Clicking on the Windows link returned a 404.
I've gone to the server status page with the little graphs and all those different builds, but they're broken too.
I also did that translated from Dutch stuff, and the link on that page was broken.

So tell me, where can I go for this nice little 3.7mb update that has me doubting the organization I'm giving money? I don't mean to sound like a douche but seriously, this (and the dozens of other threads/replies exactly like this one) is [MENTALLY DEFICIENT]ed. It straight up should not happen.

LOL....I timed the END of a long skill training on the release date, so I've been going a WEEK with nothing training. *winces with pain*

Serves me right for 'assuming' I'd be able to play again.

Since my petition about this closed after the auto patcher f*d up my install, CCP has now had the unmittigated GALL to ask me to rate their CS response on a scale of 0-100 with space for comments. Not enough space mind you, but some. I had to edit it down quite a bit but I hope those who suffered through this debacle will find some solace in knowing that whoever reviews CS's performance will be reading the following:

i downloaded the patch 6 times.after the download i played the game well.but when i am close it and re open it it cant be open.EVE verification error it says." your eve installation may have modified damaged or corrupt files,please re-install the game client.......CRC 77sdfde expected 88gdfed...." whatever.it happened all 6 times after the download.i am bored downloadşng the new client.it took so long.is any one on CCP can help me?

I believe this has something to do with eve being installed already on that computer and some registry files or some ****up is making it get a crc error (I believe this is related to me having only the Classic game installed previously and no premium content, can anyone confirm that you had only classic installe?)

I tried downloading the files about 20 times, deleting all files related to ccp. unzipping with the 7-zip program, downloading from autopatcher, downloading with torrent... All failed me.

(I had this problem on two computers on two separate connections which alredy had eve classic (not premium) graphics)

Solution!! ?
1. Grab another computer which has never had eve on it.
2. Download a fresh install on that computer.
3. Install the game on that computer.
4. Share the installed game over the network (c:\program files\ccp\eve or w/e)
5. Get that game over the network to your computer and put it in your preffered folder.
6. Change skills, online your offline pos's & empty your silos, tell everyone in corp about ccp being total ****wads at support.

I can confirm that I had Classic installed and was getting the check sum and CRC error. However, I have a clean install of XP now and I am still getting the CRC error.

i bought my comupter and brought together about 3 days ago all parts are new.but still having crc error.....what cause this error ?CCP must know this? if ccp dont know who knows?

I had been having CRC/CheckSum errors like the others mentioned in the thread earlier (the same 13 bad files that one guy mentioned).

I used the download on that page which was NOT bittorrent, and it worked (the direct link to the downloadable installer, as mentioned earlier in the thread, is http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/EVE_Premium_Setup_84609_m.exe)

I tried the Auto-patch on my Mac twice and both times it said 'verification failed' when it had finished downloading. However, last night I tried the Manual Patch and this morning it worked. Shocked

It selected the Premium patch, despite being on a Mac - and it looks as if it has better graphics than before. Does this mean that the Mac can now run the better quality graphics now and not just the PC? Confused

Well. After 10 days of trying to figuer out how to get a working client I have finaly gotten one installed.

The CRC errors I was getting dissapered when I bought new memory and just installed that with my new/clean install of windows xp. I did not run windows update at all, just installed the new memory and started to download a client. It worked first time around.

I don't know if this will work for every one, but perhaps it will. Very Happy

Seems that was my problem to, memtestx86+ found over 15k errors with my memory before the test had even finished - i put my old sticks back in and dl once again but now its working and the client on my laptop is blisteringly fast :)

I have downloaded the 2GB client 7 times in the past 12 hours, everytime I do, its either corrupted or I get this error. Any advice?

Error Patching

I have never had ny trouble patching previously...

XP Version...

My Options:

1. Cancel
2. Try again with same repeating error.
3. Reinstall complete client?

Is the server running?

I have no clue as to server status, any help appreciated.

Edit: I have no firewall blocking the patching whatsoever.

Latest: Patching atm with manual downloaded patch, seems to be patching fine, however, this defeats the object of having an auto-patcher.

For those of you who have the crc error:
reinstall client into another location, launch the client to see if everything is allright.
Next, take the common.ini and the libs/stdlib.ccp from the working copy and place them into your old eve installation. Restart your rig, mine started but minimized the client instantaneous without reboot. After reboot: Profit!

Hope it helps.

On a sidenote: CCP I'm gonna send you an invoice tomorrow for doing ur crappy QA stuff.

Ok same **** as last patch again for me:

There was an unexpected error while retrieving patch status:

Unable to download file o2/evepremiumpatch84609-85476.exe from the server.
Error: [Errno socket error] (11001, 'getaddrinfo failed', 'thread::getaddrinfo failed with error 11001: Der angegebene Host ist unbekannt.\r\n')

And every page on http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/ I try to access yields a server not found error for me. In fact I cannot even ping that site. What gives? Is it because I am in germany or something? It is NOT my firewall at any rate... And everything else on the internet seems to work perfectly fine.

For the love of god..... Normall I'm a well tempered individual, but this is getting out of hand. I have completely reinstalled the entire client after having the same patch problems I had when Apochrypha was released. The last time, a complete reinstall made it work. Now a complete reinstall and clicking on EVE icon gives me some garbled error message ... 'CCP ExeFile has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvience'..... ptff.

I don't know the first thing about program code (and shouldn't have to in order to play a game I pay for), so I have no idea what I'm looking at when I click 'To see what data this error report contains, click here' so no real help there.

Is there a fix for this crap? Or do I take my chances and reinstall the client yet again? I'm guessing the same problem will pop up if I do.

I've tried to download the client for windows and mac several times now. Using the BITS client for windows, the autopatcher for my existing install on windows and mac (pre apocrypha), downloading the full client from the fallback download pages, downloading the client from eve-files. Every single time either the file fails verification, the installer craps out with a CRC error, the installer is corrupted, whatever.
I'm honestly getting sick and tired of downloading. I must've downloaded around 20GB by now, for non working updaters/full installers. This is wasting my time and my bandwidth, as well as skilltraining time for 2 characters. If I can't get this resolved in a reasonable manner, ie. without wasting hours and loads of bandwidth again, I don't see what other option I have besides just letting my account expire.
Should I bug report this? If so, what is there to bug report besides what I've already mentioned here?

If anyone has any suggestions as to what else I can try, I'd be more than happy to try it.

you know... as much hell i give friends who play the other MMO... WoW... they NEVER seem to have this kind of problem and not have a resolution within 12 hours... guess i need to change games... CCP fix your sheit or im gone... (not to WoW tho... just gone, I wish EA would have kept Earth&Beyond up, right now id rather be playing it was better in some ways)

This is pathetic. I have a 3Gb cap, which has now clocked 15Gb. Needless to say i have been throttled into downloading at ~7000B/s (not Kb).
I've tried numerous times (obviously, with that cap), but each time it fails with the CRC message.
CCP, split the file up please and supply a torrent, so we can download just broken segments again instead of having to try and get the entire install everytime. This level of client support is absolutely mind-numbing.

/me regrets paying annual subscription. I won't make that mistake again!!
