Auto-update will not trigger - I need the local RTF file to update...
Anyone know where the RTF package is? |

Let me try to explain this more in detail.
The auto patcher is NOT the actuall install file - it only goes to the internet to DOWNLOAD that file, then applies it.
Problem is, there's some sort of problem with IExplore's "Work Offline" switch - I can browse with Firefox just fine, but everything that calls out for an automatic install is denied, because it thinks it isn't online.
SO... I need the copy of the ACTUAL FILE that the patcher looks for. It has the filename of "....84063-84244.RTF"

Build is 84063.
Honestly I wish they would provide these RTF files every time. |

Edited by: Gwendalyne on 10/03/2009 16:58:48 That's the file I needed, but I also need the EXE file of the matching name to reference it properly.
Sorry, should have referenced that in my original post... The RTF will usually be posted next to the EXE as a pair.
EDIT: Sera, we will need the EXE file as well...
Once we have it, we take that EXE and MOVE IT to the same location as our RTF file - then run the EXE. |

Both EXE patchers i posted above Should be this one http://www.eveonline.com/patches/patches.asp?s=&system=win&edition=&n=83913*Edit* I am off home now, so i hope to read you have patched all good when i get back home :D |

Edited by: Gwendalyne on 10/03/2009 17:11:20 Edited by: Gwendalyne on 10/03/2009 17:07:18 Unfortunately, you keep referring me to the AUTO-UPDATER, which is still looking for the RTP file online.
I will need the MANUAL EXE, which will instead search for the RTP locally first. The EXE will have the exact same name as the RTP:
For example:
EVEPREMIUM.6.10.83916-6.10.84244.RTP EVEPREMIUM.6.10.83916-6.10.84244.EXE
Also, PLEASE BE AWARE I NEED THE UPDATER/RTF FROM BUILD 84063.
--------EDIT: Will try looking for the correct EXE - it should be there to find! --------(ERROR: Found build 84063, was expecting 83916)
I need a different RTP file! 84063->84244.RTP |

Both EXE patchers i posted above
When I click on those links it tells me I have a client version higher than the version the server is running and tried to make me download the entire client again instead of the patch. If you could post a working link for the 83913->84244 exe I would greatly appreciate it. I cannot seem to find it. |

the patcher is both online and offline, if it finds the RTF file it will just use that.
EXE: http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/evepremiumpatch83913-84244.exe RTP: http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/EVEPREMIUM.6.10.83913-6.10.84244.RTP

Edited by: Svev on 10/03/2009 18:51:00 I don't know if this approach worked for anyone else, but for me with the RTP and exe in the same folder, the exe doesn't find the local RTP file, and instead just tries to download the RTP, and errors out.

Thanks Czech Lion and piratezxp: I finally got it working.
About the patching system, you have to understand the way it works behind. I understand why there are so many patches, build etc... But CCP should be clearer and provide a better online patching system and info. |
