When I picked up the game last week after a few months off (haven't played since the beta) I noticed almost immediately that I was crashing every 15 minutes. I went through the boards, looking for answers, trying to see if others have problems like this. A lot of them did, but the only responses people were giving were "update your drivers" or less commonly "it's your computer overheating." Well, having a top of the line computer built into a briefcase I popped the thing open, put a huge room fan next to the machine and made sure all my drivers were the tip top maximum. None of that worked.

At the time I had only 256 MEG of RAM in my computer, as I was waiting for another 512 on order. Last night I slapped the 512 into my machine and now instead of crashign every 15-20 minutes I crash only once every 45 minutes to an hour, sometimes longer if I'm lucky. Also, as I play in windowed mode, I occasionally pull up my calculator and notepad to keep track of my ingame assets. Well, last night, about 2 minutes before a crash, I tried to pull up my calculator and I got the message "Windows does not have enough free system memory. Close some applications and try again." Or something of that nature. Now I don't know about you, but these signs are pointing towards a memory leak. Here's my complete system specs:

-Windows ME (and I don't want to hear one word about XP, it is not as good as all that. I work with it for a living. I choose ME because it works better from experience)
-AMD Athlon 2200+
-Radeon 9700
-768 Meg RAM
-Cable connection

Anyhow, now that I have a better idea of what the problem could be, I'm going to put some of my tools towards it. If I find anything further I'll post back on here, but I thought I'd mention it to everyone.

Try a program called freeRAM, you can dow nload it from look under PC untilities section. It will flush your memory for yu every to 30 minutes or if your resources drop to 32 meg. This should solve the games prob with memory leaks atleast untill the programers do :)

I have a memory leak too with XP.
I wonder why you like Win ME tho. It's the worst windows EVER.
If you want to stick to an old windows then use win 98 SE. Much better than ME.
