As some players have noticed in the last week or so, we have been having some slowness in EVE loading systems following downtime. This is caused by higher than normal CPU usage on our database cluster during startup. We are working to resolve the issue, and part of the analysis for this this is why we are delaying the server opening today.

Okay.

So, will it actually be restarting a timer or just log right in?

Thanks MindStar, any idea how extensive the delay will be? (Is it worth staying awake for us in Aus ;)

You're doing it wrong. It's worse than ever, seriously... logon sequence STILL hasn't loaded all the way, 15mins and counting.

Back to the drawing board :)

I was just told that I was #82 in queue to log in, because the cluster had reached it's maximum limit of players ugh And every time I log in, after choosing my character it just takes me back tot he login page saying "Connection to server lost" Sad

Well it's 20 minutes after the extended downtime and I can't get on still.

It might be a good idea to update the message if you haven't got it fixed yet, and in future be more accurate in your predictions.

OK smarty pants .. now explain WHY THE FARK on POSSIBLY the busiest night of the week you ****s decide to try and resolve it tonight ? Why not just try and get it back up ASAP .. it's meant to be driven by the players .. not some half assed geek with bug chasing up his butt.

Is this in any way related to the forums being slow as molasses most of the time (not just now)?

Unfortunately the diagnostics we were running during the startup caused some further issues, and we had no option but to restart Tranquility as a result.

The server will be open at approximately 1300 GMT.

As opposed to short skills? Where can I find them at?

ZOMG skill training time is being wasted!!!11

Will we get back the proportional money for this non-play time?

24x30 = 720 hours a month
15/720 = 0,0208 bucks per hour wasted

Is this normal for Eve to do this? I've only been playing for a short while. It is a bit stupid to perform this analysis at the busiest time of the week.

This wouldn't be the first extended downtime, but it's not normal. I'd guesstimate we have maybe 1 extended DT per month, and those tend to run under 30 minutes.

I wish players could have similar unforseen problems when trying to pay. Funny how we're only asked to be patient when it's our money being wasted, not CCP's.
