I am placing on auction a skillbook for SALVAGE DRONE OPERATION. This skill was only accidentally available for a few days in 2007 through running a ten-part mission chain, before quickly being removed from further acquisition in-game by CCP. It is now a limited availability collector's item that is infrequently spotted here in Sell Orders - it's not even procurable through the usual Contracts system!
This skillbook has sold on auction for over 1 billion ISK in the past.

Yes, it is capable of being trained just like any other skill, as long as you have the prerequisite skill (Drones 4).  |

Salvage Drones are NOT in game this skill can be trained but it ha no use what so ever it is a collecters item only thease have popped up from time to time on the forums usualy at the 1 bill mark

As Lord Zulu stated, salvage drones are not currently in-game. However, Salvage Drone Operation can be trained in advance for the day that salvage drones do become available. As Lord Zulu also pointed out, this skill has sold on the forums for a billion isk (or more) previously. Current bid is 500 million ISK from Effei Gloom. |

I received this Salvage Drone Operation skillbook from University of Caille agent Antogase Pandon himself, as a reward for completing a set of missions for him around the Trossere system in April of 2007.  |

There is nothing in the patch notes for Apocrypha concerning salvage drone operation, and I have seen no mention of it in discussions of the expansion. Sounds like some idle speculation... Current bid is 550 million ISK from MarieFrance Tessier. |

I have three characters with the Salvage Drone Operation Skill Book, and a few extra. For a while I was selling them for 60mil a copy till I found out they are not putting the drones in the game, at witch point I thought it was not fare to sell a useless rare book for this amount.
How did everyone get this book? It was a bug in a noob mission reward. After CCP identified the bug they took all the books from all the players as the book should not of existed. Two days later after much *****ing CCP returned all the books. It was kind of funny as they returned one more then they took.
The bottom line is this skill book is TOTALLY USELESS at present. Salvage drones are NOT in the game, and are not scheduled to be in EVE anytime soon. Also once they release Salvage Drones the book will cost around 500k-950k.
This is a TOTALLY USELESS Skill at the moment. Anyone paying over 25mil for a skill book worth less then 1mil when it’s released is wasting there ISK.
Again this book will do nothing other then consume your Skill points, this is a CLEAR FACT.

I looked back in my notes, and I got the skill books back on April 22, 2007 here is a log of my posts as to how and what happened. BYW I was mistaken I was only selling the books for 40mil..
At the time You need Gallente alt for this or Gallente standing. You would Go to Bourynes system (University of Caille) and do the two part mission for the tutorial agent. Once, that's completed. You need to go to Trossere and speak with Antogase Pandon. At first, he may refuse to chat with you. Just close out the chat window and try again. Then he should offer you a 10 part mission where on step 8 you will get the book.
From The Too Good To Be True Files, I Mean The Patch Notes;
"The Salvage Drone Operation skill was incorrectly added to TQ as a mission reward, and has been removed."
I Had Two, they deleted them completely with no compenstation / item swich... One From My Head One From Cargo what a waste of time...
And the Great Salvage Drone Skillbook Sauga Continues...
Get this Crazyness, on my hanger floor today is two Salvage Drone Op books stacked and 1 beside it totaling Three... I only had Two before CCP took them back (see patch notes)... Weard, stuck one in my head and it worked fine..

I am certainly not scamming anyone. The skillbook is worth what the market will bear, which over the last year has been approximately 500 million ISK and more over multiple sales/auctions, including a couple of transactions already this calendar year. Salvage Drone Operation is one of the four existing skills (along with Astronautic Engineering, Mobile Factory Operation, and Mobile Refinery Operation) that were once available in-game but are no longer and are only capable of being acquired via the dwindling number of remaining unused skillbooks such as the one I am offering. These skills may not be worthwhile to you, but there are others who find SDO and Mobile Factory/Refinery Operations skills worth hundreds of millions (or a couple billion) of ISK for whatever reason... a satisfaction in collecting rare EVE items, a desire to max out their drone or industry skillpoints for bragging rights, guessing that they can resell for even more ISK later on, et cetera? In essence, it's no more 'useless' than selling officer items that add a percent or two to some ship statistic for billions and billions of ISK. Some people pimp out their ships, some people pimp out their skillsheet (Dr Caymus?), some people pimp out their hangar floor collections (Entity?). Originally by: Jebba IV

I bought a few of these books for 20 or 30 mill (cant remember exact price) just before they were withdrawn, CCP actually announced they were about to do this.
I trained one up to add to my collection and a few months later sold the other 2 for 100 mill each.
The value these books have is to skill collectors, so no point in all the people above saying they are worthless, they are worth as much as a skill collectors desire to have one.
What about the ancient racial skillbooks, (Talocan, Sleeper tech etc) they sell for 100 to 300 mill each and they are still obtainable. Supply and demand nothing more! :) |

It really isn't the most useful skillbook known to us, but it is very valuable to persons who try to get their skill count up. Collecting those skills ain't that cheap after certain point and some have missed this book while it was introduced.
You could say it's pointless to pay for 500m or 1b for 'useless' skillbook, but to those who has a use for it, it's far from useless and it is quite a bargain compairing to titan skills to up skill count.
As far as talocan etc techs those were under 100 m isk just a month or two ago, before they were speculated (after sleeper blog). |
