Can we get the test server to actually be up during the US TZ? It is kind of hard for anyone on this TZ to do any testing when the server goes down at 2 in the afternoon and doesn't come back up for the rest of the night.

Cheers

We have a daily reboot around midnight GMT. Unfortunately, we have been experiencing startup issues on the new code that generally prevents a good startup, hence why it is down so much at present. We're working on it.

When are you going to update missile graphics?

A missile appearing out of no where, not even a launcher hardpoint is v. 2003.

Please update this six year old graphic when possible. Cheers

Clarification.

Classic mode no longer works in the current client, referring to Apocrypha on
Singularity.

Is the above correct when the patch goes onto the Tranquility live server?

If so what are folk going to do that use laptops and slower lower
spec pc's.

Leave the game might be a reasonable expectation.

Buy something new? And there will be Laptops with Apocrypha pre-installed. They should be able to run it, so it might be a good idea to look for those. They might have the full apocrypha box bundled, dunno.

This discontinuation of the Classic client has been blogged about, twice, and it's been made crystal clear by CCP that Apocrypha is when it will happen.

If this affects you, try Scene 2 with Shader Model 2; SM2 is the lowest graphical standard CCP will support with EVE after Apocrypha hits TQ.

When should we expect the first patch for sisi? Its been almost a week, and its been the same build for that same amount of time. Usually theres always a daily update to sisi, but iv not seen it yet and it just seems to me that you guys are waiting till the last minute to do anything.

Are the planets supposed to be improved? They look worse! The Asteroids dont look much better either.

EDIT: Ok the textures haven't been included at the time of posting. I can however still tell clearly that the planets aren't spherical.

Patching system:
We have a new patching system in place. A small patcher is downloaded first, and that patcher retrieves the patch content and applies it. The content is retrieved via the BITS mechanism. For some people the download section fails. We are investigating this and need bugreports with dxdiag reports attached if it fails on your PC.

I really hope CCP will continue to make the RTP files available as time goes on. BITS is not a viable option for some users who are behind firewalls, do not enable BITS for security reasons, or use Linux and Wine.

Won't work on my WinXP install in any case; will throw in a bugreport, of course.

At a guess they've changed the tutorial text and haven't hired the voice-actress to come back and re-record everything. Hopefully they'll bring her back for the final release.

It would seem that all relevant SiSi patches point to the same -bad- file... I can only hope this is the case with only the test server patches, not with those of Tranquility.

I had same prob...

Go to test patch page and manually download it. The file size says it is 732.4 MB (http://www.eve-online.com/patches/patches.asp?s=singularity&system=win&edition=premium&n=77718)but only downloads like 704Kb. You will need to manually install that 704Kb file in your test folder. Once it starts patching it will automatically start downloading the correct file. Once patched you can start it up. The patch took me like 20+ mins to install once it downloaded the main patch. Unfortunately, when I tried logging in serer was down for maintenance (status unknown) but I did not get message to download anything else.

Hope this helps.

Patch problem hopefully fixed now...

What ccp NEED to inform people of on the patch page is the new patch system...
I did not see this untill today on the start of this thread...
They could allso put a link to this page on the MOTD on the test server patch page.

The .RTR file is what contain the actual patch data... the ordinary .exe is only a referer to the .RTR file.

Quote:
To manually download the patches, you will need both the patcher exe file, and the content rtp file. Put them both in the same directory. If you have multiple installs you need to patch, make a copy of the rtp file to another location first.

Automatic Download failed, Manual download worked fine. Very nice with the BITS-Stuff, i was able to watch one of the tournament videos in HD while downloading with no problems.
