So I get my latest issue of PCGamer...and the review of Doom3 is the highlight. I get so excited, I put the magazine down and take off in the car to the local software stores. First stop...nothing. Second stop...nothing. Third stop...nothing, but I am told August 4th it hits the shelves. I can hardly wait! Who's gonna be playing Doom3 August 4th besides me?  Eagerly waiting, MrBinary |

Doom3.com says August 3rd is the "ship date". But I've also heard that it'll be Aug 6th (or later?) before you see it in stores  I fully expect to not be playing Eve for at last a week or more after I get Doom 3. Anyone have any info on Hlaf Life 2 release? Again, I heard something about it being available in August, through Steam? HL2 will probably be an even bigger time sink than Doom 3, since the original is my favorite game of all time... |

I am waiting for the Xbox version seeing as it looks fine and doesn't require I spend my wages on a graphics card. Not too fussed mind... Halo 2, thats the one...dun de de dun... dun de de dunn... dun de de dunn... doo de di doo di ding...

I don't really understand what the fuss is all about - all the hype about Doom 3 has been about the graphics requirements.
The previews have not really been that good - Doom 3 is probably a good game but the genre has been done to death and all it does is add to sparkly bits to it. |

Have you even played them? The only people who say that are hyper sensitive PC fanboys... Go out there, complete GoldenEye on 00agent, and Halo on Legendary, then come back and say that it wasn't the best thing you have ever payed. And play it on Xbox it was crap on PC as it was designed for a controller. |

Doom 3 isn't fun 'cause it looks good, it's fun cause it's f*cking scary  Not so many games in that genre either. |

Halo is better than the PC versions of those games...
Not a chance, HL and Quake 3 are the 2 best FPS games to have come out in a very long time, the only other games that even come close are a handful of slightly more recent ones that were built on modified Q3 engines anyway. Oh, and some silly people might say bf1942 as well, but i never really liked it. |

Keyboard = an extremely inprecise digital control.
Mouse = extremely sensitive analogue control.
Joyad = Two analogue controls.
See?
And maybe the reason thy were using Keyboard and Mouse for those games is because those games were designed for use with a keyboard and mouse? And PC joypads are ****.
Heres a little fact for you, keyboards were specially designed to be awkward to use, originally people were typing too fast and kept breaking them, so they made them much much harder to use. |

Mouse/Keyboard users could wipe the floor with Joypad gamers for the simple reason that while a joypad relies on a tiny little joystick trying to make fine tuned aiming within the microseconds it takes to get fragged, the mouse can give you massively more control on the same shot thus giving you the headshot a joypad would otherwise gift you a general hit. Basically due to the mouse being a more precise instrument it aims better... Im sure you're never gonna agree with me, or i with you so post your post on the subject but i'm through with the back and forth PS If keyboards were designed to be awkward the designer failed as most secretaries can speed type at ungodly velocity |

FACTS: 1) FPS were created for PC (not console). They are ment to be played with Mouse and Key 2) Halo was originally designed for PC. Mr Bill bought it and re route it for XBox (wich is no more than a Pc in a big black box) 3) I've played Halo on XBox (not mine Xbox,i don't spend money on consoles) and on PC (twice)....and I can assure u the "controller" of xbox sucks compared to mouse and key. 4) FPS --> PC It doesn't matter how much money Mr Bill spends he won't be able to change that You know that MS created a controller for FPS? (I got a promotional video of it when I bought my SideWinder2) It didn't go too far  |
