I have recently returned to Eve after a year hiatus, and not wanting to go back to the 0.0 life i tried mining for a bit. After a week i decided it was boring as fduck and decided to do some lvl4 missions (the hard ones) but now i am faced with the progression of lvl 1 to lvl 4. And i have some questions:
1. How do you progress in Agent level (1-4)?
2. What does agent quality mean? big deal?
3. Should i loot/salvage wrecks?
4. Are having T2 drones worth it?
Any advice you want to give is fine. thank you

1. All missions give you standing with the agents corp. Each agents has a minimum standing requirement, that increases as the lvl and quality increase. Connections and Social skills can speed this up
2. Agent quality effects mission pay and lp reward. Look for the highest quality you can access conveniently. On a side note the sec status fo the system the agent resides in has a similar effect, ei: ql_10 agent in 0.9 will pay less than ql_10 in 0.5.
3. This is debatable. The better your agent the less worthwhile it is. Still, Sansha/Angels usually drop good salvage, and it can break up the grind some. Definitely have a dedicated loot ship; usually a destroyer, unless you happen to be flying a Marauder
4. T2 lights are extremely useful for missions, which from lvl2 on frequently have t2 frigates in them; T1 just take to long to destroy scram/web.
Remember not to accept missions against empire factions |

Ah, thank you, so to follow that up, would investment in social skills be good before i get into heavier missions? (out of my 22million sp i have 750 or so in social) |

well I would say yes. because 1 it will make the grind for standings to use the agents much faster. 2 will increase your LP and Cash payouts on per mission basis significantly 3 will decrease the negative standing with enemy factions (you can do more mission for caldari before gallente starts shooting at you) edit you can train them while you mission they have no effect on mission difficulty at all so run missions ass you are it will just make the grind longer to get to higher level agents. so yeah train them up a bit don't need to go all crazy but they are useful for mission runner. |

Almost right. Now and then the agent may give you a mission againt one of the other two empire factions. Those will decrease your standing towards this faction. If it falls below -5.0 you will get shot at on the gates. |

Only if you do the missions against Caldari faction ships. You can simply decline those and move on to other missions to maintain your standings. |

Sorry to hijack the thread, but on a related note the whole agent mission thing is damn confusing for me.
For example, I have done a huge amount of missions for this one agent in Pergi.. and still am on -2 with him. I have done the mining materials for war mission three times and got the Quaffe formula twice!
Seeing that my standing with the agent wasnt increasing I decided to go to another agent in the same area and my standing with him was 0 even though I havent done a mission for him before! And whats my first mission? Go mine a freaking asteroid for war materials!
Whats the way to sort this all out so I do different missions and increase my standing? |
