I joined FW with my main when it started and must admit it was a ball.
Never known such free and expansive individual fun in EVE in nearly 4 years playing.
Had more one-on-one fights in one week, than all my time as patchy the pirate

or in 0.0.
One-v-one fights were 2,3,4 5 times a session. Wonderful! You got to test your skills and ship setups with no margin for error, win or die.
Early in FW I was able to attack enemy blobs, sometimes of 20 ships and more, in a single ship and still be effective and get kills. Just as was possible in 0.0 with nano-gangs against dug-in opposition.
Then the nano-nerf [aka speed balancing arrived].
This to a large extent has reduced EVE to a slug-fest.
"My tank is better than yours".
Blobbing seems to be on the up. In FW everyone flies AFs everywhere. Why? can't tackle them if they don't want to fight, quick warping and no bubbles. If they do fight, great tank. Big ships struggle to really hit them that hard, unless that have specifically set-out with that in mind.
The margins of concept design, of new ways of fighting ships seems massively diminished.
The nano-nerf has devolved EVE to the lowest common denominator player. Everyone set tank and guns to train and slug, slug , slug...
ECM yeah, Neuts yeah, yes you can still have a strategy. But at the end of the day it has crippled many aspects of the game which really interested and entertained me.
I simply can't fight those blobs anymore on my own in FW. It is now impossible.
I still win a disproportionate amount of the time, but at a cost AND the real sass of the game has gone for me.
Yes I could go back 0.0 and do the war thing, blow up POS's [excitement city=not], or massive 300 ship blob fests, you jump in-your lagged-your in an expensive ship-youwait 20 minutes-wake up in a pod in a station in a system far, far away. No thanks.
All of this is really unfortunate, having spent so long in the game.
So failure sauce I am afraid.
Look for my main in the sell-ads in the near future.
Is WoW anygood?
