I have read it a few times now and am currently prowling Solitude on my Merlin of Doom. A few suggestions, the most useful section of the guide was how to setup your overview. Please put the settings in a table of some sort. You also made mention of safe spots near astroid belts without clarifying why. After placing these safes the answer is obvious, but was not apparent on the first read. I have also gotten horrific feed back on the shield boosting merlin fit in the text, are the fits just general fits or specific to Pirating? Great stuff though, and thanks, I love my overview settings.

I am also not fond of the shield boosting Merlin. I much prefer the medium shield buffer version (AB/Web/Scram/Extender), which provides quite a lot of EHP (and passive recharge) for a frigate without the agility sacrifice of plates. Where a shield boosting fit may work well is with a kiting fit. MWD, long point, cap booster, shield booster. Standard launchers, 125mm guns, 2x locus rigs. Uranium or Plutonium ammo to taste. This will give you a very nice optimal, and the shield booster will help you shrug off whatever damage does come your way. Haven't tried it though, total theory craft. The fits in the guide itself are really just general PvP fits. I can't think of any fit that is "pirate specific" - piracy is really more of a state of mind and an attitude than anything else. That said... Bump for a truly awesome guide that has inspired countless from Boredom to Yarrrrrdom! |

CCP hates kittens and wants them to die. This is obviously true, because the non-sticky nature of this guide kills kittens and CCP has yet to sticky the guide.
On a personal note I do not like kittens, but unlike heartless CCP I do not wish death upon them. |
