It seems that we all agree that Every race puts their guns/missiles in the top slots, why isn't it like this with Tanking. Since the beginning of this game Caldari have had to substitute their tank in order to be able to hold someone in place thus making this race very difficult to PvP in. as opposed to the other races where they can choose to drop armor survivability for damage. In the Caldari place we all know that we can fit both Max Tank and Full Damage unlike the other races.

I would just like to know if you guys have thought about bringing Caldari Ship tanking down in their lows and mirroring them similar to Amarr. I think this would be a better move than nerfing Caldari like in this patch and increasing their sig radius, and nerfing their missiles in order to balance them out a bit more, now moving the mid slots to the low slots and vice versa. That gives Caldari the same way of tanking as other races, so it would either be fitting full tank or full damage or a balance of somewhere in between. Now that being said that would also help out the Falcon and balance them out a bit more. Not to mention the my favorite ship the scorpion.

In the case of the scorpion I can fit it for support like it is meant to be used and jam other ships or i can Fit it for Max Tank thus being a very good ship for soloing and taking other out on my own.

By doing this I think it would be better and I think you should keep your high’s for combat, mid’s for EWAR and lows for Tank or DPS. Caldari are going to take a lot of balancing and this will probably have to be done on the next big patch, and test it out a bit yourselves and please let me know what you think about this idea and let me know what your directors think about this. I will be waiting to hear back from you in the future.

Now, on a more serious note, races have to give up different things in order to get better at some things.

Armortankers have to give up damage in order to become tanky (less slots for tracking enhancers, damage mods and the like), while shield tankers have to give up tank for Ewar but can go ballistic (pun intended) on damage mods.

That's just the way it is, and nothing in the world could ever make me want it any other way.

I'm not going ballistic i also have amarr trained and i believe the amarr have a nice setup and give up the right amount of stuff in order to fight correctly, your guns use up cap. The maelstrom has a very nice tank and you can get a lot of damage out of it. (as is the Raven)

only reason i proposed this is because of this fact lets say your drake you can tackle and give up tank at the same time and still be able to out dps most any ship (your class) out there and still be able to survive long enough to put a gank Brutix Down. by doing this it would balance the game a bit more and make armor tankers stop complaining about missiles always hitting and doing too much damage. Or the all to familiar "they can still hit you when you have them jammed" and make caldari a harder race to run missions in. thus making the game a bit more balanced for everyone.

well... it must be nice to be caldari and even have the option. Take the amarr laser assault frig. 1 mid slot. There's not even an option there... you simply can't fit propulsion AND a point.

I see exactly what you're saying, but I think you might consider that from other races viewpoints, the element that you're complaining about is actually somewhat balanced atm. TBH, rather than being nerfed, caldari have a bit of an advantage there... at least vs amarr laser ships, simply because you have the option. Amarr gets to tank more, but has a harder time doing anything but dps or tank...even including holding a ship in place. Caldari gets to be a lot more flexible... but at the cost of tanking less.... though tbh, there's a bit of an advantage there since caldari at least HAS the option to just straight tank but also has the option to fit a slew of various ewar mods. Amarr, you kinda know what you're up against from the get go... not to much subtlety there.

Just myo... as an amarr main with an alt who flys caldari.

Firstly, we don't want all ships to be the same. Caldari have the best E-WAR (by far), but have to sacrifice some tank to fit it. Hey, that's kind of like how all the other races have to sacrifice tank to deal better damage, or like how gunships can't fit remote reps without sacrificing damage, or like how ANY SHIP IN THE GAME can't fit all roles at once. You are just used to running missions where you can tank, and do stupid damage, and not even have to think in order to 'win'. Real PVP isn't like that. Everyone makes sacrifices, hence you need several ships all filling different roles to make a balanced gang. If you're complaining about not being able to solo-pvp, then welcome to playing caldari - I hear friends are useful now and again. Also, sporks are dangerous. As for making caldari e-war ships better, JUST ****ING NO!!! Do you have any idea how much whining would happen, and the worst bit is, it would all be justified. You already have the best E-WAR in the game, stop complaining. And when you say caldari still need balancing, you're right, your ability to post needs to be 'reblanced' to be more in-line with that of a dead rock.

You clearly don't see what he means i guess i Fly Galente and Caldari for the occasional mission. Caldari have an easy form of tanking and doing damage and i honestly thing this is ****ed up. Lets say i take a Mega and bash it against a raven it will go down unless i can jam the damn thing or make it stop hitting me while my turrets catch up to its missle damage, i honestly think caldari are way over powered and yes they do have the strongest EWAR, but how good would a falcon be if i could only jam 2 ships considering its last slot would have to be for an anti EWAR buff.

I'm pretty sure CCP will do something to the falcon since everyone loves those now and not the Nano's i say we take caldari give them low slot tanking ruin their dps and have them have the hardships other races have when it comes to combat and give them mirror slots of amarr mids, amarr by far have the least amount of mids of any race but are the best armor tankers, so what? not to mention the biggest capacitors of any race, i think this "fix" would cripple caldari so i am all for it. a Caracal can solo pvp so if that is what you are worried about fly that. The hawk just plain sucks imo and the ishkur is T E H BEST.

BTW FALCONS NEED TO BE NERFED THEY ARE TOO STRONG AND SHOULD BE SOMEWHERE NEAR AS USEFULL AS A SHUTTLE

then since you like them so much, fly amarr instead of caldari. if you dont like caldari, dont fly them. its that simple. by the second post, clearly there are people who do like caldari as they are.
