I just built myself a new rig, so im installing bunch of stuff and im bored atm so I wanna post a few things.
Ghost training, I have never, in 5 years deactivated my account to 'ghost train' and its quiet funny, 3 days before the announcement of the 'GT' nerf, I decided to let my account expire and train a 30 day skill (save some isk you know, at least 500m / 60 days is alot of isk) It sucks in a way, but hey I understand, just coincidental thats all. They prolly said to themselves "O ****, Tank let his account expire! Better nerf GT'ing. (ha ha was a joke)
90 day GTC nerf, this I didnt like. First it was 400-500m for 90d GTc, now its 500-600m for a 60d GTC. Really don't like this what so ever. Im sure its just a 'money move' for CCP, which in business, is understandable. But I just wanted to let you know. I can't afford it game-isk wise which in result, is forcing me to sell my character for isk and let the second account which was given to me expire, for good.
GT and 90d was a deadly blow for me. So, was it a good idea to nerf 90d gtc? You just lost yourself an account subscriber. Of coarse, ill still keep tank going. I guess all in all I don't really need a second account, because all I really did with her was loot ship wrecks in jita after suiciding.
Just my thoughts. Hope eve brings so new features to get me back into this game, I sorta miss the hate mail. |

lol, i actually know what your going through.
this was the first time ive wanted to take a short break from eve, but with the changes i dunno what the hell to do tbh.
ill probably sell 2-3 of my alts at least and just keep army running while training him |

I wanted to have two accounts, so rather than alternating them every other month like some dude trying to scam free cable, I paid for a second account. I'm thinking of a third.
Yeah, I understand CCP used to say that it was a "feature". Now they don't. Oh well. It's $10.95/mo. Or a bunch of in-game isk. Not the end of the world. |

I havent ever deactivated just to train a long skill but have always made sure I set a long skill when I was taking a 3 month or more break, of which I have taken atleast 3 in 3 years time.
Have to say in my book that was the single greatest feature of the game and I am really sorry to see it go, but it was one of the things that peaked my interest to come back to the game after each break, the ooo I have some new shiny ability factor. |

I ghost trained several accounts. I paid for them because I thought $7.50 a month for an account that logged on may be 1 day total per month was a good deal - $7.5 for total of 1 day of online time + skill counter ticking, not that bad.
Now CCP wants me to pay full price for accounts I only subscribed for training and don't really use. I can only play 2 accounts max even though i own several - that all i have time for. In my opinion paying full for accounts i don't use is not justified. So I did not resubscribe them and don't really care to in the future. As a result I will be richer now in real life money all thanks to ccp. And my accounts ... well may be some time in the future i will sub for a month and consolidate them but right now can't really be bothered.

Listen, im not here to debate with you unintelligent mindless fools. I am just posting constructive criticism on CCP's changes. Keep in mind that I have had this game since May 6, 2003. That's 5 years, 5 months and 25 days. It wasn't until beginning of Oct 2008 it crossed my mind to simply 'ghost train' my account because really, in 2 years, I haven't really fully played this game. Sure I've had comebacks. But it was nothing permanant. Im trying to make a point here and I don't need flamers and people that call people who make a comment about the game shout "BOO HOO OR WHINER OR CRY MORE" BLAH BLAH BLAH.
I honestly wish I would have ghost trained Tank more but I honestly didn't do it because I had 90d gametime cards I could buy with isk and I was rich. I really can't say If gtc's weren't avialable for ingame isk, i'd pay for this game as long as I have. Playing a game for almost 6 years is a big commitment and in my case, being a pirate only got harder. But hey, I love the game and I still think it has potiental.
Im not here trying to get ghost training back. It really hasn't caused me to sell my alt, its the 90 day gtc nerf is what my main concern was but its all irrelevant. Its not coming back, Im just saying that the actions of CCP has caused a reaction and this was the result. CCP just lost a account that I had for 2-3 years which was given to me long ago. Now, Im still keeping my main, Tank CEO, because I can afford that and well, the alt was just a bonus in my case. I know in the beginning I went 2-3 years without a alt when I think having a alt in the beginning really mattered.
My point is, I have invested just like you are investing, in this game, money wise. I have paid 65 months worth of sub fee's. I have invested $1,000 USD into a game, thats including the game price just on Tank, not including the alt. But again, I paid for it with isk, along with Tank for 2 years I think, I don't know the exact time. Over a thousand dollars in a game!!! Thats alot of money. So all you people who like to say 'boo hoo' or any kind of retalitory whine comment, just shuve it up you know where, because you don't have the right to tell me to not comment on a game I invested in.
Now my point about ghost training. You gota think about something here. Skill training is based on real time. Now players got to relize that in order to reach, for example, my skill points, which is 92,677,128 skill points, they have to think, man, Im going to pay over 1 thousand dollars to reach that skill point count... Might discourage people and make CCP lose customers or alts?
Im only posting to help CCP, thats all. Ghost training nerf didn't effect me over the past 5 years and 5 months, it only effected me 2 weeks ago when I actually decided to try ghost training. As far as the game time cards go. I do miss the 90d gtc's. Please bring em back =(. Hell, make some 1 year game time cards.

GTC prices rose due to market forces, not necessarily because of the 30/90->60 swap. At (rl) cost per day, 60d GTCs still fall between 30 and 90, as they should. Prices went up because people wanted more of them and/or less of them were available.
Edit: And even at current prices, current costs are 10m/day, which is pretty well nothing |

First, the money is not an investment and does not in any way, shape, or form give you a vote in what CCP should or should not do.
Second, thousands of others have paid lots of money to CCP - what makes you think you're special (other than being somewhat famous)? |

I've invested about $1000 into EVE. Actually, probably a bit more than that considering that I have 6 accounts active at all times and ETC time is at a minimum because my siblings got me back into FFXI to be their treasure hunting ***** and I still play a little bit or warcraft here and there. |

if gtc prices keep rising i will shut my alt accounts down. paying real cash for eve is not an option.

I feel the same way and have been playing since May 6 2003 as well.
Already dropped all my chars that are under 50m sp to inactive (which amounts to 4 accounts).
I don't foresee canceling my other 3 accounts til I run out of ISK to pay for GTCs though - I guess I would consider selling 2 of them though, since they all have basically mirrored skillsets.
Generally those 3 were always active during the era of 90 day GTCs, with the others being ghost trained. Like Tank, I haven't really 'played' eve in over 2 years. Occasional logging in shooting - rarely more than a couple days a month.
With the 60 day price hike I closed 2 accounts and continued ghost training my 3 main + 2 lower sp accounts. After ghost training was nerfed only the 3 high sp accounts are still active, haven't even bothered selling the other accounts (between 35-50m sp each), giving 20 or 25 dollars whatever the transfer fee to such a greedy company just rubs me the wrong way.
Doesn't seem as though there's much point complaining though, CCP have seemingly already made up their mind and will not change (until they notice a hit in the bottom line maybe - I doubt they can afford to backtrack at this point though).
If you really feel like protesting just do like us and drop accounts. The 175 page of people saying 'you suck CCP' isn't enough. Certainly these 2-3 page threads (before they are locked by Baghdad Bob) aren't going to do much to change their mind. |

I understand, I also cut back on the accounts I have by merging them. 2 accounts so far deactivated 2 more to go. I dont really hold any grudge on CCP with respect to GT, didn't do it that much, any account I ghost trained, prob only did it for max 2months out of 12, but it was a helpful decider to cut down on the accounts I have. While financially I dont like the fact that GTCs are getting more expensive, it is better for EVE the higher they go.
It will be interesting to see what long term effects, the GT and GTC change will reveal.

Tank was one of the first people to kill me back in 2003, so I of course know about Tank, As someone else has pointed out though, just because someone has an old character doesn't somehow make it less of a whine. I'm tired of the whining about ghost training and GTCs now. |

For all the QQing on this I don't see how removing the 30 and 90 day GTCs somehow magically made the 60s more expensive.
The market sets the prices, not CCP. I have a feeling that if the 30 and 90 day GTCs had been left in 30 days would be going for 250M, 60s would be like they are now, and 90s for 750M.
No way to prove it of course, just my opinion. |
