With EVE Fanfest 2008 approaching we decided to let you ask the Fanfest organizers some questions. Murinae and Krisnitori will join us this evening and Whisper will be asking them your Fanfest related questions. This event will take place on Thursday, 30th October, in the in-game channel "Live Dev Blog". It starts at 20:00 GMT and lasts for about one hour. |

just a couple of questions here.
Whats the drinking age limit in iceland ? and will CCP be taking any responsibility towards this with the serving to minirs inside the venue ?
will beer be cheaper inside the venue ?
will it be possible to visit the roundtables, watch the ambulation demo, go to the TII announcement and any of the various other stuff™ ? has there been a consideration for conflicting events ?

Dont you have to buy them in advance? Edit: Anyway my Question is, Is there a coach i can catch at the airport and roughly how much will it cost? Missed booking it when i booked my flight. Thanks |

I don't understand why there will not be a live stream of video coming out of fanfest this year. It was the only thing I looked forward to being that I can't get there. Who is the ****** who made that decision?

It will be me asking questions that will be taken from this forum thread. As the live dev chat progresses, I will be keeping an eye on this thread to catch questions that have been asked while people listen, and I will do my best to come up with other questions on the fly based on what has been said earlier. I do realise that these dev chats are not ideal in their current format and both the EVE Voice team and the Community team are looking at ways to make them more interactive. The challenge remains the fact that all methods of "live" question delivery that have been tried before result in good questions being buried in a wave of spam. We have a couple of ideas about how to queue up people who wish to ask questions, much like it happens at the FanFest Q&A sessions, but implementing these requires developer time which is currently better devoted to polishing Quantum Rise and working on other awesomeness that will be announced at FanFest. |

Wait?! There was a LIVE STREAM from the previous Fanfests??? What, the, fuuk! Are you talking about the CCP recordings of the event, or those randoms videos the fans bring back? Certainly you jest of losing such an epic tool of distribution of awesome...  |

It has long been stated that a prototype for Ambulation will be demonstrated at the Fanfest. Will test footage be released after that fanfest? |

Lusulpher, yes there was, and you would think they would continue it esp with ambulation coming out. Instead, we have to wait for some punk to edit it when we could be getting live vid. WTF!

When will a LIMITED skill-queue be implemented ?
Skill-changing has NOTHING - I repeat - ZERO - to do with playing the game - its a part of account management.
NOT having a SQ only gives people who have 24/7 access to Eve an unfair advantage over people who dont.
Continuesly having to login to only change a skill only leaves a bad taste to a game that is otherwise great !

since at the momant we can'nt buy icelandic currency outside of iceland is it best to take euro with us or will british pounds be ok? are both easily as exchangeble over there?
if you are selling items at fan est ( I believ you do) are these prices in ISK or another currency and if another currency which one? and i you let us pay or them in another currency which exchange rate do you use :) ?
can we take camera's/video camera's into the venue ect, or any other item restrictions?
will there be any wi-fi set up so we can skill change on our laptops or more likely to login to eve and make other people jealous ?

This was asked already, Is there a schedule for each day, some of us are planning other trips in Iceland around the FF, thus it would be good to know this. Is there a good heavy metal bar in the city  and most importantly will there be cheap beer and pizza at the FF site like last year  |

A suggestion that can hopefully be considered by devs.
The bane of Eve that disillusions a lot of ppl is the gang-bang mentality. A large group pwn smaller groups or lone players, combined with fleet battles with larger gangs that is even more boring and off-putting for gameplay. Other threads have discussed the pro's and con's of these observations.
My suggestion is to limit the number of ships that can target another single ship. The larger the ship the more locks it can take eg Battleship can be locked by no more than say 6 attackers while a frigate 2 etc. Every ship from a shuttle to a BS would have the same lock 'strength' that builds up a feedback resonance on a target and a resistance to further locking. This would encourage smaller groups for combat as larger numbers will be useless if they cannot lock. Large fleets would have to be broken down into strict fleet commands and compelled to work independently of the bigger group.
This is just a thought for discussion but i personally think something has to be done in this direction to make Eve live longer.

Will we be able to get a schedual with the events happening on fanfest beforehand or will we have to wait till we get there and get out tickets ? :)
Are there any restrictions on when you can enter or leave the house fanfest is held in ?
If I bring friends along that are wow players but not eve players will they be beaten to death ?
