mission briefing
Alluring Emanations

Mission briefing
Some of our explorers have just located a hidden asteroid belt that is apparently full of
rare ore — here in local space. That's more than a little suspicious. The signature the belt is
giving off is obvious enough that it seems nearly impossible it hasn't been found and mined out
before now. We're afraid it might be a trap of some sort. We want you to warp over there and check
it out, then report back.

1 yes only one rouge drone at warp-in at 49-50 km After killing it to my count 42 rouge drones spawned (frig sized and died with 2 heavy missiles not salvo just 2 Cn heavy missiles) .No loot ( did not salvage) .After killing everyone ( for test purpose ) nothing nada .I guess mission finished when first rouge drone spawned or it killed did not look carefully to journal.

If i get it again ill test when mission finishes .
Edit:Mission was on Test server Singularity

The drones are all miniature sized "apis" class, not even frigate sized. Odds are that one EMP smartbomb blast would wipe them all out at once once they're in range, but you don't even have to bother with that as the mission completes as soon as you kill the first drone.

I like the mission because it's fast and gets me to a storyline sooner.

Seems rather than "Rogue Drones", they were merely "rogue" drones. The models were of player-use drones; noticed at least Miner, Hobgoblin, Ogre, and Valkyrie. Salvage was not great, but not terrible considering how quick they die. No loot at all

I got this mission last night and considered posting about it myself. It's laughable. I used an apocalypse with tachyons, 1 gun per target and they all died except 3 where the single shot missed Laughing. No loot and no additional spawns followed.

They were rookie class drones with player drone models. I think the closest they got was 70km, my ship has a targeting range of 76km. I killed them so fast that the limit on speed of killing them was determined by lock time. I just couldn't target them fast enough. The mission is fine I suppose, but it needs to be downgraded to a high end level 2.

Still, a nice mission to get storlylines faster, so not all bad.

What was really humiliating for the drones in this mission was a flight of Hobgoblin IIs. After about 20 seconds, I stopped even TRYING to lock, my drones were one-shotting these things.

It has to be some kind of error in the spawn type. The mission text talks about running if you are overwhelmed. If it was all infested dominix spawns in the same quantities, THAT might be a bit dangerous.

No loot on any of them (rather odd for rogue drones, not even a single Condensed Alloy), and salvage was typing for rogue drones...a smattering of everything, and nothing really valuable.

I got this one yesterday.. LVL 4 Q20 agent... 750 LP (LVL 4)... 80K isk reward. No bounties, crap loot.

just frigs....

Must be a bug in the DB or something because this doesn't even rate as a LVL 1

... Oh and this is with all connections/advanced connection skills at IV.

For the "lulz", I entered into this mission fitted with 4 Smartbombs. I let my own Drones kill the first drone, then waited patiently for the rest to gather around me. Once all 40+ of them were buzzing around my ship, I let the Smartbombs rip...

I almost thought I'd crashed the client due to the excessive load I just put on it.

I'm pretty certain 1 Smartbomb is all you need though.

Is the there actually any rare ore there, because that would work for loot?

That would be an awesome mission indeed. CCP please listen to this man. All Drone Domis, no frigs, no cruisers, no small stuff at all. Razz

I just had this mission from a lvl3 Q18 agent, I killed the initial Rogue Drone and approx 40 more spawned, all at range and easily popped.

No Mineable Asteroids and Wrecks held no loot, didn't bother salvaging

Is it just me or did they add a whole bunch of "warp in there, take a look, and warp out" missions to all levels with the recent patch?

Hmmm just had what seemed like/was the exact same mission from a lvl4 q16 agent, there is either something more to this mission or someone in CCP messed up.

Just had this mission for the first time.

What on Earth was that all about!?

I realise that rewards will increase with time, but I really don't see the point of this mission. It took me all of 5 minutes to down all the drones - my own drones were popping them faster than I could lock new ones. All the wrecks were empty. I spent about 2 minutes salvaging before abandoning the rest of the wrecks.

If CCP want to give us a way of moving one step closer to a storyline mission, just set things up so that accepting this mission will display a picture of some paint drying for 10 minutes, along with a recording of a man reading selected excerpts from When Mother lets us make paper box furniture. It would be a lot more interesting ;-)

Yet another mission added to my avoid-if-at-all-possible-list.

I am beginnning to suspect that CCP have decided to move level 4s into low sec, but to reduce the backlash - after all, they have had several big PR upsets recently due to ghost-training, speed-nerfing and missile-nerfing - they have decided to make them all so boring that no-one - except, maybe, the author of the above book - would do them ;-)

Ishtar, T2 Curator sentries at 80km, pop pop pop, 3 mins done.
No loot.
Sod-all salvage.
Total waste of time.
Go in, pop first drone, complete. That's all it's worth doing.
CCP, your mission-designers need a swift kick up the proverbial. Even Buzz Kill is better than this.

Quite a lame mission. Went in, aligned to dock back to station, popped the lone drone, warped out, turned in. Roughly 30 seconds start to finish. Lame.

I rather like the mission, just pick it up along with another mission and it on the way(or way back) it's easy money for the all of 30s max you spend doing it.

The more I hear about this mission, the more certain I am that it is bugged, or simply wasn't playtested before going out the door.

First clue is that the Level 3 version and the Level 4 version are identical. Same Drones and same amount of Drones. Second point is that this is, at the most, a hard Level 2 mission in terms of difficulty. For most players it's a barrel shoot.

Let's wait and see what becomes of this mission in the next patch.

Comments section on eve survival suggest L2 and L4 versions are also identical.

For now I'll happily accept this mission, as it gets me one step closer to the next storyline mission.
