Edited by: Alqualonde on 16/11/2008 08:30:36 Confirming this on a MacBook Pro with 2GB of RAM and an X1600, in Boot Camp.
In fact it just got me killed because unbeknownst to me the problem had gotten so severe before I warped to pot shot a POS and my framerate was so low that actually reinforced itself meaning my client remained unresponsive even long after the grid load.
Classic graphics, all effects, brackets, and colortags off. Hell even chatlogging I was so desperate. |

Edited by: Gerog on 16/11/2008 08:54:07 Updated drivers and changed to the suggested option. I'm still getting this. If I relog it goes away, but then comes back. I get the message "Cannot do that in warp" and I'm not hitting anything. Could it be a memory leak? |

Ive noticed the same problem on my pc after QR released. Im running a Inter Quad core @3ghz, 3gb ram and a WD raptor disk. The lag isnt noticeable at first but gets gradually worse. Ive also noticed that if you are running the client in windowed mode, minimizing it and the opening it again releases alot of RAM the client is using. |

Unbelievable that CCP won't even say "looking into it".
It's almost impossible to play the game. |

This is one of a few threads discussing this issue with no response from CCP. Very poor customer support CCP, very poor indeed |

I'm getting the same problem since the patch to "fix" lag. Created a petition got the same old response.
C'mon CCP has about a little acknowledgement on these issues.. or the reason you don't acknowledge these bugs is so you don't have to replace items etc due to these very very annoying bugs?
Even somthing like "we are aware of numerous bugs since the patch and are working very hard to resolve them" would go a far far way for the community. |

"Thank you for your bugreport - ID:6---- Title: Game Freezes after QR patch We are already aware of this problem, and have added your bugreport to the existing issue in our defect tracking system."
Thats what it said in the mail.
And today, i got a reply from a GM who asks me to update my video-drivers...of course that did not help, but i had to re-install Omegadrivers afterwards. Not to mention he asked me send him my DxDiag log via EVE-Mail. This is getting out of control. I would like to have some answers, especially regarding gametime-credit, as EVE is - in it's current state - unplayble, at least for me.

Hey Equinocs, thanks for the info. You have single handedly informed more players in your post than CCP has about this issue in the last 6 days. Also, I think it a disgrace that us, the Users, are asked to reinstall drivers, clients, change settings, etc to try figure out CCPs problem for them. I wonder how many player hours have been wasted due to US doing reinstalls etc to try compensate for CCPs failures? Gameplay seems to average 40k players, assuming these are the same 40k each day we end up with; $12.95 per month X 40k Players = $518,000 per month So if there are only 40k active subscribtions then CCP is making over HALF a mil every month, thats over $115,000 per week! CCP, you cant fix a memory leak or keep your customers informed for $115,000 in the last week??????? Why NOT???? |

did you consider that it takes a lot of time and information to fix a memory leak or whatever is causing the issue? Did you consider that they need all the info they can get to help them figure it out? if ccp asked me to send them my dxdiag, evelog and run a program that tracks memory leaks, I would do it to help them figure this out. not all computers are created equal, even computers with the exact same hardware and software don't respond the same all the time. they're working on it, give them time. |

i think its irrelevant that all computers arent created equal. The fact that its happening to EVERYONE is concrete evidence that its not our computers that are at fault. There is no reason for them to need our system information to help them fix the problem. use your own god damn computers! |

CCP maybe you should try this program -> http://sourceforge.net/projects/fastmm/
Its called FastMM and helps you try to find memory leaks on programms. |

Edited by: Valya Dire on 17/11/2008 21:55:53 Edited by: Valya Dire on 17/11/2008 21:42:34 Has anyone tried running the logserver and taking a look over the output?
Dont know if it used to do this but i've spotted a few:
2013 2008.11.17 21:16:09:979 TriDDSLoader failed to load texture 'res:/UI/Texture/Icons/icons04.dds' - retrying with D3DX functions
of these cropping up, maybe its graphics related?
edit: quite a few of these types of errors popping up too-
987 2008.11.17 21:39:29:295 Problem reading class UIWindow, found member "hint" (type 8), not in class. Ignored.
Just continuing to post random error messages i see popping up i dont like the look of (as a coder)

Everyone needs to start filing petitions on this issue. These forums are just the complaint area that they can ignore.
WORST PROGRAMMERS EVER!!!!!!!! Microsoft does a better job at making full initial OS releases (Vista) than CCP does with a simple patch. CCP is a joke.
See I can say this cause I know they don't read the Issues Forums. |
