It could certainly be a bit tougher - I'm not sure how people will be able to pay for EVE by sending food parcels to Iceland.

There's no point sending food parcels to iceland since CCP staff runs on beer and servers run on hamster that also run on beer. |

Why didn't Iceland join the European Union ? If it were part of the EU the Brits wouldn't dare to talk like that, noone dares to freeze the money of a country that is part of the mightiest confederation on earth.

Because if Iceland joins the EU, they'd have to open their national waters to fishing by anybody in the EU, and the fishermen in Iceland don't want that. And since fishermen are a major source of GDP for Iceland and hence very influential... |

Every British EVE player is going to get executed for high treason. This is possible due to the re-enactment of a dormant 500 year old law that allows the beheading of traitors to the royal crown. You better cancel your account now before they find out. |

I guess i'll start a long skill then, just in case they switch off the servers anytime soon ... anyone knows if skilltraining would continue in that case ?

If someone shuts down the servers, then no, your skill training will not continue. |

Yes it will, although your ability to benefit from it is less clear cut. Skills don't operate on a second by second addition of SP. At least it'd be a bloody stupid and inefficient way to do things. It's far more likely that the server just records the starting time and the rate at which SP are being earned then forgets about it. There's no need for a timer at any point. It's only when the client queries the DB that it performs a calculation and works out what you've got. Because of this your skill will always continue to train until it complets a level. Even if thermo-nuclear war breaks or the entire planet destroyed then, conceptually, you continue to train your skill. |

Food parcels are welcomed actually. We use food to hide the beer in our fridges from other CCP staff. But jokes aside, we are doing remarkably well over here and EVE is not going anywhere. Thanks to all of you. If you don't believe me, take it from EyjoG, the man with the PhD: Linkage |

Apparently Gordon Brown says we can take what we want when we turn up to the Fanfest and sell it back to the Government when we get home lol
If you see a large Scottsih bloke stuffing laptops under his coat at the Fanfest you could score some political points. |

I have already drafted a letter to my MP telling him to stop bullying iceland.
LOL though to your question. I hope it's true, I work for one of the councils who may lose money over this, so I reckon it would make a great story for the papers.
