Umm, looking at what the next EON issue is about, I noticed a small tidbit: "Details of the EVE: Conquests board game". Shocked

I say what? When? How? Can I have it? Puh-lease?

Here's it's boardgamegeek.com entry. Release is set to 2008, so probably around mid-2010 then.

*rolls dice* 1,2,3,4 ok landed on a Multispec Scan square, lets just pick up the Exploration Card... oh... hmmm... "You are caught on the same node as a large fleet battle and are lagged for the next 6 turns. At the beginning of each of these turns rolla dice. On a roll of 1 you are podded. Do not pass Jita, do not collect 200 isk"... bugger.

Eve boardgame?

*Takes a career card*

The card says... Mining.

*Reads back of the card*

Roll the dice to determine the amount of ore you mine in that cycle, repeat 3 times. Roll the dice again and multiply by the ore value [Section 6.65 - Ore Multipler Value Table] to determine your final ore value. Multiply this value by your number of units based on your initial rolls to end up with your total profit. Repeat indefinately for the duration of the game [Section 9.91 - Endgame Scenarios].

Every 3 cycles you must roll for a risk combinator [Section 7.48 - Risk Combinator Roll Values]. Roll the dice to determine gas cloud explosion, can flip [see section 5.33 - Hauling multipliers] or gank (gank will only apply if you initially rolled to mine in low security space, other players may gank you by choosing to make a scan roll, in which a determined value will cause them to discover your ship, putting both players into PVP mode [see section 8.72 - PVP engagement rules].

Not... really feeling this game tbh.

I always like the card game.

Player A ends his turn
Player B pauses for 6 seconds, lays down 4 cards
Player A screams bloody murder
Player B blames it on lag.

I wonder if the boardgame will be as slow or quicker than the real game.

Would love to see something similar to monopoly except more complicated.

I will buy this game...

...but only if it has a "Chribba Bonus" square that automatically turns your Velator into a Veldnaught! Laughing

Haven't really found any more info on the game, aside from the components, and where to possibly pre-order it. And the price-tag. 75 USD? Shocked

List of components and preordering site after this link.

it's only 50 at my local game store.

and only about that price everywhere else, I don't understand why but you'll be able to buy it cheap.

A) It'd be called evopoly if it were eve online monopoly
B) Every so often you can't play it for hours on end cos its being patched by CCP
C) Every so often one of the players does the same thing so many times you come to realize that they're scammers using bots to keep scamming everyone.

I think both CCP and Hasbro would like to introduce me to their teams of highly paid IP lawyers if I tried to sell it ;)
