Edited by: Toushi Kimura on 23/08/2008 20:43:31 Edited by: Toushi Kimura on 23/08/2008 20:42:19 Duty will be officially withdrawing from the Caldari Militia within the next 24 hours.
Since the onset of this new war between the Gallente and Caldari peoples, Duty. has placed itself on the front lines of the conflicts in Black Rise, Essence, Placid, Verge Vendor and the Citadel, in order to protect both the security of the State, and wellbeing of its Citizens.
It has become increasingly apparent that this war will be one of attrition, and will not come to a close in the foreseeable future. As such we have decided to withdraw our pilots from Militia Fleets, and instead operate privately in a fashion which better supports the wellbeing of the state, and on terms we dictate.
It has been an honour and a privilege to fly with many of the pilots and corporations within the Militia; however Duty feels that we will better serve the Citizens of the State through means other than Militia Participation. We still intend to do our duty to support the State; however we shall do so through different methods than in the fleets of the Caldari Militia.
For the State. For Honour. For Duty.

Although my membership in Duty. was initially contingent upon direct involvement in the war effort, these pilots have never failed to impress me with their moral fiber, their character and their honour. These people are now my comrades and firm friends, and I have nothing but the highest respect for them. I take great pride in continuing to follow our CEO and the Board of Directors as they - we - continue to serve the Caldari people on our terms, not on CONCORD's.

Good luck in the future.
The days are indeed grim when I have more respect for a Caldari entity than a spesific so-called Federation supporter.

While I am glad from a military perspective that Duty. is leaving direct alignment with the Caldari government, I must say that they have been one of the few Caldari entities that has presented a challenge and have been a truly respectable opponent. It has been a joy and pleasure to fight them as the occasion warrants or our paths cross.
I know that when this conflict is over I will wave to Duty. when I see them and wish them good journey and many successes in the future. Stitcher I am glad you found a place to call home and that you are following them in your travels. |

you made the right decisions, now if you could convince your fellow ex-caldari milita members that the war will be a long and painful one, with absolutely NO hope for victory over the glorious Gallente Federation, everyone would be happy, the caldari state could once again be a part of the greatest empire in New Eden, still hold most authority within your own borders, as long as you accept that you simply have NO chance in this harsh universe, come back to the federation, and we will protect you, as you quite obviously as demonstrated in this war so far that you cannot, all will be forgiven |

That sounds disturbingly similar to the rhetoric used by the Amarr Empire - you know, that other group of guys we're fighting? Cultural imperialism is something we're supposed to be fighting against, not perpetuating. |

I respect your honesty. Now, why can't the Amarr Empire do the same and just come out saying, "We're going to enslave ALL of you, and take all of your space and goods" without bothering with all the rhetoric of religious justification?

Probably because they honestly believe in their religious justification. In much the same way as most Caldari believe that it's the Federation who are threatening us, as opposed to the other way around. |

M. Ixiris, I have to disagree with you, having fought against Gallente cultural imperialism since well before the Militia Act. They, being the Gallente, are all about cultural imperialism. The Amarr, they are pretty much just imperialist, lacking the subtlety of cultural imperialism. The Gallente do like to throw their weight around, quiet literally; they are the majority voting block in the Federation. |

well, if you remember, the now Caldari state used to be a part of the gallente federation, and broke off, and decided they wanted to try things on their own, and as i said, they have quite obviously demonstrated that they cannot, they had the upper hand early in this war in the sense that they were taking small amounts of our territory, but we gallente only needed a bit of target practice, before we got up to speed they will suffer for their ignorance and "flawed" ideals, they were a part of the federation once, and will be again soon, whether they go willingly or not |

Your not doing yourself, or the rest of us, and favors. I ask you to stop fooling around, dragging your arrogance around will not help anyone of us. Also, you remind me to much of a person that is your exact opposite, in the State militia. It's actually quite bothersome to listen to. |

Do not mistake our withdrawal from the State Militia as surrender. We intend to continue to defend the people of the Caldari state from so called Gallente benevolence on our own terms, and not through Concord's sanctioned militia warfare.
To those who try to blame this war on blind obedience to Heth,I would remind all Gallente, that it is they who started this war when they took our home from us. Taking it back was just the beginning of righting the wrong done to us so long ago.
Heth will be dealt with when the time is right, but now is not the time. We must secure the state before we can deal with the problems within |

I don't want that State in the Federation. Maybe as an ally one day, when they stop being all hurt over the last war, and the loss of this one. As the Amarr say, "You only get to knock once." They won't be coming back. |

Not reading history much, do we? Either way war was never a solution, too bad that people are too stubborn to admit that in their minds. Having fought DUTY. in the past, i know them as a great team of respectable pilots. And for that you always have my respect. Too bad we are on opposing sides due to others decisions. Hopefully some day both governments will realize that co operation is much better than confrontation. |

I would suggest that your State will not be secure so long as Heth controls it - so if you want to go about securing it, get rid of the internal problems first. |

let's... not get into that one again. I think that particular argument has been bashed out enough.
Heth is a problem that I trust the megacorporations to deal with for themselves. I don't know which one will strike first, but all of them will eventually come to view the man more as an obstacle than as a tool.
He's untouchable as far as Duty. is concerned, so we do what we can and trust other, more powerful players to do what we cannot. |
