I'd love it if CCP could give us tools to see busy nodes on our map so we can avoid them.
I really am sick of jumping into a deserted constellation and having 25 second activation times on modules simply because those systems are on a busy node.
Seriously, short of not logging in at all, the lag is seemingly unbeatable at times. There's not much point in paying a game where, all efforts to the contrary, lag stalks you like a hungry wolf. |

As quite a few have posted - the Lag is ONLY getting worse.
I pay to play - NOT read Dev Log's about future improvments.
What a great game - what a crappy lag fest.
Why have Premium Graphic's when you have to turn them off to play?
I have Core 2 duo - 8800 xtc vid card - 6meg down 2.5up.
ONLY EVE provides the worst game play(LAG) in all the mmog world.
Fix it - stop your excuses CCP - FIX IT !

Actually try playing Archlord on the weekend. Cant move at all. Much worse than EvE online. Or tho i am not in a busy region so dont see much lag except what my crappy ISP causes. I know its my ISP because when i try to download a patch or something its sometimes not even 100kb sometimes  |

Just about every MMO I've played since EQ1 lagged badly if you attempted large scale PvP. In EQ any fight bigger than a 30 v 30 or so would lag badly. Most other games I've played have been the same. In most games, though, there isn't really much reason for large scale PvP (other than fun).
In EQ, about the closest to a real reason for it was gaining/blocking access to raid zones, but large scale PvP was not an advertized feature of the game.
The problem with Eve isn't that it lags, it's that it's mechanics encourage you to do things that make it lag. Changing 0.0 mechanics so that they don't so heavily favor mega-fleets is the right move, but the proposals I see so far don't look so good.
There isn't any question in my mind that it's gotten worse over the last year or so. Why that is I have no idea, but any software is likely to regress in various ways over time as it's added onto and "enhanced". Performance regressions aren't uncommon.
