Hello,

I have ben doing L1 missions for a while and am increasing Social, Connections, negaotiations, etc to increase standings, etc... but I am still on Level 1 agents.

How do you get Level 2 agents?
What does your standing have to reach to go from Level 1 to Level 2 (I've seen all the posts about L4 agents - which doesnt help me).

How do you calculate the agent standing (both Modified And Base) from faction standing.
What needs to increase to get to the next level missons
(PS: I already have one agent at 10.0 - Superb but dont get L2 agents from him; and two more agents which I'm alternating between, at 3.5 to 5.2 standings...)

Can someone point me to a link about increasing standings to increase the agent levels (cant find one on the sticky in this forum)...

Thanks.

Show info is your friend.

Do show info on your agent, click at his Corp icon to do Show info on his Corp.
Get on the Agent tab to see all available agents of these corp.
Do Show info on these Agents to see the Standing requirements.

1) Corp standing is what counts, agent standing does not. Go to the "standings" tab in your char sheet to see your standings with corps you have run missions for. You can even right click a corp in the list and choose "Show transactions" to see how each mission affects your standing".

2) Even if you have the corp standing, you must go to a station that has L2 agents in the corp you have standing with. Only L2 agents with L2 missions.

3) Starting at 1.0 standing with corp you can do L2 Q-19 missions and at 2.0 you can do L2 Q0 missions and at 3.0 you can do L2 Q19 missions.

If you have Connections to at least level 2 you should already be able to do L2 missions, you just need to find the agents. You do this by doing the "show info" on a corp (upper right info icon when docked at that corp's station). In the show info page, there is a "Agents" tab which shows where all their agents are and which ones are available based on your corp standing.

An agents level is set in stone, it doesn't increase from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4, you have to find a different agent in the same corporation.

This seems to be the only misconception you have.

Since the social skills are a little confusing, here's a quick rundown:

Social increases the amount of standing gains you receive each time you complete a mission. This becomes more useful at the level three and four range.

Connections increases the amount of base standing you have with agents, and diminishes as your applied standings increase. In other words: it reduces the gap between (your standings) and (max standings). As your standings increase, it's effect decreases.

Now there's three different relevant standings: Faction, Corporation, and Personal(Agent) standings.
Since you need to unlock a higher level agent that you have no personal standings with, yet, you'll have to fallback to corp standings.

Small corrections here:
1. Connections increases EFFECTIVE standings. Base standings are only increased via mission completion.
2. The connections skill increase applies to all agents in factions you have positive (perfect zero included) base standings with.

For instance, say you have no standings with any faction at all, you're a brand new character.

That means that training L3 Connections for instance will grant you access to ALL Level 2 Quality -16 (minus 16) agents in any empire.
Training L4 Connections will grant you access to ALL Level 2 Quality -8 (minus 8) agents in any empire.

Another example : say you do have 0.10 base Caldari standing and 0.80 base Spacelane Patrool standing.
That means you get access to all L1 Q+2 Caldari agents and all L1 Q+16 agents in Spacelane Patrool.
Train L3 connections and you get 1.288 effective Caldari (access to all L2 Q-15 Caldari agents) and 1.904 effective Spacelane Patrool (access to all L2 Q-2 Spacelane Patrool agents).
Bring that to L4 and you get 1.684 effective Caldari (all L2 Q-7 Caldari agents) and 2.272 effective SlP (access to all L2 Q+5 Spacelane Patrool agents).

Heck, the lowest L3 agents (Q-20) only require an effective standing of 3.00
With L5 connections, that means you only need a puny 1.25 base corp standing with that agent's corp (just get a L4 mission-runner to split 5 or 6 missions with you, for a price, and you already have that much), and you get access to the agent !

And so on and so forth.
Bottom line : train L3 Connections ASAP, and think about training it to L4 sooner rather than later.
Later on, it doesn't matter all that much, but early on it's great.
