As you can see in this thread there are many people who are anti-social.
Also, you appear to be confusing "antisocial" with "have the gall to disagree with my infallible opinion". |

The fanbois.. People who jump to conclusions always have a chance to redeem themselves, and will usually concede when confronted with factual information. |

And 3 months of eve paid for with a credit card is something like 1-4 hours of work depending on what country and what kind of income bracket you belong to. Tbh compared to games where I have to pay in Euro like WoW eve is incredibly cheap.

60 day card of World of Warcraft is $30 USD. It has over 10 million active accounts. 60 day code for Eve Online is $35 USD. It has(read had) 300 thousand active accounts. We pay $5 more because it is a "Premium" product. So Eve is Premium over World of Warcraft.....debateable.
Price of codes has gone up. Many online retailers of the codes are back-ordered or never got the new codes. Supply and demand means the codes that are available to buy for isk are inflated. CCP stands behind marketing's decision.
Summer means people playing less, in-game economy suffers. Less market activity means less isk available to buy timecodes. Now people close extra active accounts they cannot/will not pay for with isk. Number of active accounts take a nosedive. In-game economy suffers further. Gameplay suffers for low income players find a harder time. Now credit card customers decide to go back to WoW because it has pleanty of people to play with and costs less.
All of this means a dramatic drop in active accounts over the next 4 to 6 months. CCP takes the loss, continues to stand behind marketing, and tries to make it work with a shrinking player base.
Perhaps the smaller player base will make the game even more "premium".
GG CCP consider my accounts closed. No you can't have my stuff.
lol. So you don't want to play EVE and go back to World of Wartards because it costs a grand total of $2.50 more a month......LOL. Good riddance. EDIT: And comparing EVE with WoW is like comparing a Ferrari with a Ford Escort. |

Thank you for a real post Ra Vhim. Lets see where we may have some common ground: Originally by: Ra Vhim Pretty much everything is debatable. If you don’t think Eve is a premium, then so be it. Why you would doubt that I do not know since you have not explained yourself.
It was perhaps a mistake to put this section in. I did it out of outrage that they would spin such BS as to tell us the $5 was because Eve is "premium". I'm sure Blizzard, SOE, Mythic, etc. all think thier monthly subscription MMOs are a premium product. I have learned after posting this that the increase was to offset the less money they take in per code for retailer's cut. If they said that in the first place I don't know of anyone that would have been upset. Originally by: Ra Vhim Where do you get this information about nosedives and a suffering in-game economy?
This was a projection based on 3 years of economics classes. I admited it was a theory from the outset. I have sence learned CCP expects this also but they expect the trend to be minor. Considering they have the subscription details I will take this at face value. Originally by: Ra Vhim Again, where do you get your information that credit card customers go back to WoW? Do you have a source the rest of us don’t have? Or are credit card customers = you?
I meant CC customers also would leave if they found the game no longer fun. I admit there was alot of assumption here. Originally by: Ra Vhim You seem to state an obvious fact about a dramatic drop in the coming 4-6 months. What do you base this upon? Are you qualified to make such estimations? Also, if your divinations come to be true, how do you know how CCP will act? Inside source?
Again, CCP has already admitted this will happen. they project a small loss. Again they have the nubers so I admit I overestimated the number of alt accounts being paid for by isk for cards. Originally by: Ra Vhim Irony, yes, I got that. Tell me, what does premium mean for you? You have not even touched that in your post. Is premium = cheapest product?
I think it more appropriate to ask what does premium mean to CCP Marketing? Is it a scapegoat word to mean "I don't think you deserve or can handle a straight answer so I will spew complete BS at you"? Originally by: Ra Vhim Yes, I agree that it can be tough for new players. I have found plenty of social people in Eve, though. Perhaps people are just anti-social around you?
LOL No mostly on these boards were peope read a portion of a topic and think they need to insert some inane off-topic one-liner that doesn't contribute to the discussion. Originally by: Ra Vhim If they think the same thing as I is fun, then they should have no problem having fun. My first character, made 2006, joined 0.0 and started PvPing after 5 days in game. I had plenty of fun.
Sounds great! Would you consider your experience to be common? Originally by: Ra Vhim Firstly I must congratulate you on smoothly insulting many who posted in this thread while congratulating someone. You are the kind of social player Eve needs more of.
Comment was aimed at those posting with no value to the thread (see above). If that was you then so be it. Yes I am a smart ass. Your one too. I can live with that, can you? Originally by: Ra Vhim Yeah, tell me about it. Though I suspect most people have read whining threads similar to this many times over, which can be a reason why they don’t throw flowers at you.
While I didn't expect flowers maybe, reading the thread before posting was also too much to ask. Originally by: Ra Vhim I wouldn’t go so far as to make it sounds Eve only have damn nice people.. But it is nice to see that you are receptive to people opinions, even if it differs from your. Many think life is a ***** when people disagree. I mean, why respond to a post if you don’t agree!
Indeed. I expected to be flamed. I hoped that some actually took the time to read the thread. I wasn't disappointed. |

I first bought a 30-day ETC just before my trial period expired. This just before the 60-day GTC/ETC came out. When my account was up for renewal, I changed to a credit card subscription, and paid for one month. This was a bit cheaper than the 60-day GTC/ETC. I will re-evaluate when my subscription is up for renewal at the end of this month, will probably change it to a 3-month subscription then, though. AB |
