Just kind of occured to me, do CCP every morning at work get briefed on Alliances stances / Any fights / Sov changes (Outposts) towards each other?

Probably nothing really to do with managing the game, but would be interesting if they did.

I sincerely doubt it.

How do you think we get news bulletins on different alliances doing whatever they do?

I'm sure when CCP had alts in major 0.0 alliances it was talked about a bunch. After the t20 incident I assume they are keeping away from that.

I'm sure some of them keep track (to what extent anyone can) of the politics in EVE. You created the sandpit, may as well watch the ants while they scurry around in it.

Besides the major alliances know all the best exploits, have many of the most experienced, wealthy, and influential people, and consider themselves to have the most to gain and lose from many changes that have been/could be made to EVE. Watching them makes a lot of sense from a game design perspective.

Similar to how watching rats leave a ship tells you it's time to plug a leak, or watching birds fly can tell you about the air currents at their altitude, or how seeing worms writhing on the earths surface tells you that it's been raining.

Yes, thank god for you guys, otherwise we might not know that an IAC roaming gang engaged Requiem. Incredibly newsworthy!

if by 'politics' you mean 'CAOD' then no, I doubt they'd even prod it with anything but a citadel torpedo.

I wouldn't. Confused

That's the problem. It's just an assumption.

There is some videos out there of ASCN Avatar when it was shot down - you can see Polaris ships there watching the course of events - so yea, I guess they do observe.

It would make sense CCP does keep a eye on things though - to make sure things are working the way they need to be, and alliances are playing their wargames within legal limits. As good maintainers of their game, they would need to observe - of course.

In a way CCP are technically gods of New Eden, literally. They are it's creators, and the watch over everything, and even can change the entire course of events just a single click if they want.

As responsible creators and maintainers of EVE - they would watch what is going on in their world they created.

I try to keep track of things through various public avenues but it's not always easy to get a good picture of what's going on. I do check the influence map every day, and browse various forums (including CAOD) when I have time, but given how much stuff I know is going on there's remarkably little material available for people who aren't directly involved, which is a shame. So yeah, no formal briefings or anything but I keep an eye on it where I can and I know there are others in the company who do the same.

As Greyscale said, there are a number of us that watch the politics of EVE with great interest.

Before joining CCP I was heavily involved with 0.0 politics and still like to keep informed of what is happening, even if I do not get to be involved anymore *sniff sniff*.

Don't read CAOD though, nothing interesting in there and it kills to many brain cells. *grin*.
