I joined the militia, and found myself surrounded by many pilots eager for combat, but no leadership, so I stepped up and formed a small gang. We met in Villore. It took a bit longer than I thought it would; it was a bit like herding cats. I had approximately twenty pilots when we rolled out. One jump out of Villore, in Old Man Star, we came across a neutral and people got trigger happy. He wasn't a war target, but he popped just the same. As we headed toward Naganamen, several more people straggled into gang. It was an auspicious beginning.

One jump out of Old Man Star, we caught a lone war target, and he went down quickly. At that point, our scout reported a hostile fleet in Heyd, a couple of jumps away. It was between us and our destination, so we girded our loins and moved forward.

We found our 25 pilots confronted by 50 caldari militiamen. No one even flinched. As we lunged into battle, the green nature of our group was apparent, as we tried to keep primaries and secondaries called. Soon we were reduced to a fleet of pods, but surprisingly, no one complained. We had killed a sufficient number of ships, so we happily 'advanced to the rear'.

Twenty minutes later, with a 35 man gang, we left Villore again, and again ran into the same 50 man gang. This time we did better. Primaries and secondaries stayed called, and we avoided primarying a drake this time :P Once our fleet had been reduced to mostly pods, we once again advanced to the rear.

Surprisingly, even though most of the gang had just lost two ships each, there wasn't a negative word spoken. I was pleasantly surprised, and i look forward to writing more combat reports in the future.

Is this the first Empyrian age battle report?
If so, congrats on "first" ;)

Does this belong in COAD though?

This seems like where all of the other battle reports go... and although I am in an npc corp, it seemed fitting, and I wanted to share this with the rest of Eve.

I'm guessing you used Eve Voice to communicate, or did you use a separate TS/Vent? If the latter, who provided it?

Nothing wrong with your battlereport, I dugg it :)

Im just worried this will flood this section of the forums with reports of factional warfare and corp level chatter...

We allready have a fair share of posting in coad...

The question is:
Has Factional warfare (Empyrian Age) a place on coad amongst 0.0 alliance chatter?
shouldn't CCP give you guys your own forum section?

Ps, dont tell Pilk anything ;) ^^

CAOD is for corporation, alliance, organization discussions.

There is no rules saying it only pertains to 0.0 entities, its just that 0.0 entities tend to spew out the majority of posts.

@ OP

Enjoyed the battle report. My corp will be in the militia effective sometime tommorow, and we will be forming up for pew pew. We might head out that way, not sure yet :P

Ahha. Yes, skirmish combat in lowsec will be a thorough primer on life in 0.0.

So I missplaced an A (cOAd instead of correct cAOd)

But you are worse:
It's "It's" and you also forgot to capitalise.

Furthermore, don't be stupid!
Read what I wrote again please!

What you are suggesting is that I meant him being underserving of posting in CAOD wich is wrong!

Yes he is in a corporation and this is the corporation and alliance section.
But he is in a "Factional Warfare" corporation being part of the new "Empyrian Age" part of EVE.

My question was just does this belong here?

Nothing sinister in that at all.

But this is:
Go hump a chainsaw...

Ps, I left a misstake in my spelling/sentencing so you could go nuts ;)
Go fetch...

I would rather have someone who can take losing ships and understands basic pvp over someone who only mines and thinks multi specs and warp cores are how to fit for pvp

Yeah no kidding, I left 0.0 for this and I have absolutely no complaints so far.

Now all they need to do is make a sov system for 0.0 that doesn't involved shooting pos's and instead involves other objectives.

at the end of the day, an npc corp is an npc corp.
factional warfare is an RP thing, to get PvPers to RP and get RPers to PvP.
also to try to reduce to the numbers of mission runners (i almost wrote carebear but resisted)

Either way, CCP need to make a new section for FW, or it needs to be discussed in the RP forums. IMO ofc.

edit - nice little battle report anyway, i found the same on sisi with the hearding cats.
i think more fun will be had by the pirate corps that move into the FW lowsec regions, and unless some good leaders do step up in the FW militias they may find the lowsec regions too hostile to roam and mission run.

I see no difference in letting the NPC corps post and all the 1-10 man alt corps.

The OP has a good report, wish we'd see more like it in here. Perhaps an exception needs to be made for the 4 militias.

sorry to be padantic, but unless ccp change the rules of this forum they should be enforced to the letter, otherwise you make room for people to exploit them and whine about exceptions being made.

when you are in the militias, you cannot use eve-voice in the main militia channel because its an npc corp and the rules for npc corps apply.

this is not to say this isn't a good post, but this just isn't the place for it until ccp say the militias are allowed to post here.

OMG does it bloody matter where it belongs for now! - Jeez bloody alliances :) Dont worry FW reports wont take over an already pathetic COAD forum! Hoping they create a new one with much more serious info and reports instead of sad smackos...

Anyway congrats on first report...FW will be fun! and just what Eve needed. Now i wont have to spend millions on war decs :)

INSRG is dead, we lost the space we held. fine. i had fun, and will continue to do so.

Although I like the report of the battle, mainly because it confirms what I already learned on Singularity, there really is no need for us players to make these reports. CCP has already thought of it and in case you haven't yet, go read the latest Dev Blog about it Wink

In short, ISD will take care of it for us...
