As nice as isk, loot, and faction gear are, I'd like to propose a reward system for the Empyrian Age that fills the purpose of encouraging players to want to fight for each and every system and not just the one that's easy.

Occupation or standing restricted militia stations or POSes. An example would be a station that can only be used by players that are in a friendly militia. More station services, or better prices on station services could be offered to militia members with higher ranks. Faction items or at least useful items could be seeded on the market at these stations, requiring players to not only participate in faction warfare, but to earn control of certain systems in order to access the seeded items.

Example seeded items :
Gallente Militia drones
enhanced scan probes
longer falloff projectile ammo for minmatar militia
more precise missiles for caldari militia
laser crystals with a slight tracking bonus for amarr militia
enhanced cap boosters

Ammo bonuses should make the ammo easier to use, but have the same damage output as normal ammo.
Items with bonuses should be items that currently don't have any named counterparts. (probes, cap boosters, salvagers, etc)

The end result will be that players will need to fight for the stations that they want to use, and holding control of each system will be beneficial in more than just isk.

Given EVE's free-form nature, you don't want militia membership to become an elitist thing or something that really disadvantages other people simply because they don't want to get involved.

Offering discounts is doable - having militia POSes is already feasible without any changes in game design (though a POS should be able to set permissions for alliance as though militia is an alliance)

Offering items only accessible through faction warfare is pointless; it will just mean those who want access create an alt, and we don't want that style of gameplay promoted any more than it is already.

Nice effort though and adding those sorts of items to the LP stores would hardly hurt; I do agree that currently holding low-sec territory doesn't offer much beyond pure strategic value and even that is pretty limited.

I thought he also meant you could buy it off the market, like standard faction ammos (and the gallente drones)

anything given this way will wind up in jita and still be just isk.

i would propose the gallente people are rewarded with extra exotic dancers and the other races something...oh hell i just really like exotic dancers.

Perhaps seeding such items in stations isn't a great idea. With that in mind, lets look at the stations themselves and how we can use them as rewards for victorious militia members.

Imagine if there were a station or POS in each contested system that owned by whatever faction has dominance. So for instance, if the Caldari Militia has occupancy of a system, then the contested station is owned by the caldari militia. When the gallente militia eventually takes over the system, they win the station from the caldari militia. This gives players something tangible to fight for that's not just isk or modules.

It is my opinion that contested stations should have more than just the average sentry guns guarding them. They are after all Strongholds in a great war. Instead of just two sentry guns at a station in lowsec, make it four sentry guns or two and some faction navy patrolling the station. This gives players the feeling of the system really being owned by the dominant faction.

In order to make the contested station a worthwhile asset, the station services should have a slight bonus over standard NPC stations. Better manufacturing/research slots, better refining rates, lower repair costs, and of course militia LP stores. Perhaps not all of the upgraded services would work out nicely, but it's just an idea for incentive.

You might be thinking that the slight edge the station gives to it's militia is 'overpowering' but don't forget that the station can change hands at any time, which is NOT GOOD for the previous owners.

Now all we need is a reward for earning higher and higher ranks within each militia. My first thought on this was to have more and more station services available to higher ranking members, but the inverse would mean that low ranking members would have less access. My second thought was to have better LP rates with militia agents, but that seems... inadequate to me.

With this in mind, does anyone have a good idea on how to reward higher militia ranks?

I just want LPs in a good LP store, it does all you describe.
