i saw a few people got eve to work on an eee with windows xp. anyone get eve to work on an eee with linux? i know the chance of actually playing on mine (512 mb ram, 633 mhz processor, ****ty mobile gfx, 2gb ssd + 4gb flash card) is pretty remote, but i'm wondering if i can just do things like market and skillcheck on it.
i tried a windows install already, and that just kept causing one problem after another, so i'd rather not resort to installing windows on here (and i'm pretty sure dual-boot is a no-go as well, with only 2gb to share between the two installs) |

First, you're going to want 4GB of hard drive space instead of 2GB, simply because 2GB of hard drive space simply isn't enough for XP to run optimally (the OS itself, the updates, page file and more).
Second, with the 4G and the 8G versions, you get a small hatch under the machine which allows you to upgrade this and that; mainly the RAM. The Eee PC 4G version comes with 512mb of RAM original, to run XP optimally you're going to want 1GB. |
